Depends on the resistance you are aiming for.

Some use micro, some go for a nano. You'll have to play with it to see what you prefer, but you probably can't go wrong with a 1/16 drill bit for starters and experiment from there. For my go-to setup I use a 1/16 drill bit with 28ga. Kanthal 9 or 10 wrap touching coil. Meters out at around 1.2-1.3ohms which gives me the vape I like.

Some other wraps, gauges and resistances can be found here

Finally, if you are looking for different builds, Rip Tripper has some pretty good youtube videos for the kayfun.

my preference is anything bigger than 2mm. I vape 100% VG and I find the wicks just won't keep up unless i go bigger than 2mm. Just be sure you don't pack too much wick into the liquid channels. You can cut some to the length of the coil so it doesn't block the liquid channels. I usually go around a 2.5mm screwdriver. Try different coils, see what you like. Kanthal is cheap.

Going to use 28 kanthal to replace coil soon. What size drill bit is recommended for wrapping?

depends what you are going for.

5/64 is what I use.

28g is real small.....I'm assuming you are planning on wrapping micro coils, and sub ohming?

I bought 30g kanthal for my EHpro kayfun.....but I'm using 32g right now....and loving it.

I'm on my third build right now...best yet. 32g kanthal, about 4/5 wraps (2ohm), with rolled cotton from CVS. MMhmm

I wrap contact coils at 2.2mm with 28ga kanthal for my KFL and my Rockets (kayfun type) which happens to be the diameter of a coat hanger.

For my mechs, I shoot for .9-1.0Ω which comes to about 6-7 wraps. Going to much lower on a mech and the vape gets to hot for my taste. For regulated, 1.5Ω, at 10 wraps.

Good vape and easy to wick and re-wick with cotton at this diameter. My preference is to keep the open ends of the coil in line with the wells giving the wick a straight shot to the wells, instead of mounting the coil at an angle which leaves an elbow in the wick and ultimately can lead to wicking issues.
