Corn 'n' Cows
My. Dog. Is. Eating. Concrete

She was laying in her "safe spot" and I heard this "crunching". I went to see what she was gnawing on, and she's picking up little chunks of "grout" that has flaked from the seam where the basement floor and the wall meet  WhutTheWhuuuuuuuut?????

She's been on steroids for the past week - all freaky - having to go out like every hour (not sure what she does during the day because I know Uncle Kerm isn't over here that often!) Demands a cookie every time she comes back in, too. I'm sure she's "hungrier" than normal - I don't want to feed her any more (she, like I, could stand to lose some weight....)

BUT, her ear is not getting worse. There's a little hematoma, but over the past few days, it has not enlarged..... I am praying that we've rounded the corner - she's been through Hades and back.

Of course, now they are going to try and work the hell out of me until 11. They added a 2nd cell for me to feed. :glare: :nah:

I'll be right there with my baseball bat.
Wait, why bring my bat, I bet one of those half shafts will work nicely.;)

Steroids make me crazy. Literally. They also trick your brain into telling you that you should eat something. Anything. Every 5 minutes. True story. I handle it by having some kind of crunchy, nibblie something around. When I get that urge I satisfy it by a nibble. Instead of a 7 course meal 22 times a day. Do you have a hard kibble you can give her a few pieces of at a time?

Cuz you are a good, contentious worker and they can rely on you. But hope they don't overburden you so you can't keep up. You are only human! (I think, Na, pretty sure)

@DingerCPA, will BDD eat carrots? Those little baby carrots make great crunchy nibbles that may help satisfy her cravings. Low calorie, too. Good for her too (but don't tell BDD that).

Like some things, she merely rolls them around and turns up her nose :D

Her dinner is hard kibble. I suppose I could give her a few bites here and there.

SO is often on rounds of steroids. Serious munchies ensue. But things taste so bad - metalicky, she says. And always thirsty. Which is why BDD's constantly needing to go out..... BDD will soon drop to one pill a day - hopefully that will help.

My Sister's Golden loved carrots. They were kept in the freezer to make them gnaw worthy. That's a great idea!

Poor SO & BDD! I was on them for many years. 2x a day. Then I was able to get off of them for several years. Got sick, & PC gave me a dose pack. 7 at one time on first day. Baaaad reaction! I had to go home from work because I had zero business being around people, much less dealing with customer issues. It was horrible! Thank goodness it was a Fridayn h we were off on Monday, so I did get 4 days worth donen but didn't sleep for another 3 days. I developed a sensitivity to them. That's why I give Steroid alerts on my threads before I have to get an infusion for the RA. There is literally no telling what will set me off & what will fall out of my mouth. It gets a little extreme. And embarrassing. I don't always realize what I've said or how it sounds before it's out there already. So I apologize in advance for anything I might say in the future. Honestly, I'll be as surprised & shocked as anyone else.

She should be happy with 2-3 peices at a time. She just needs to satisfy that need to chew something. And crunchy is very satisfying.

Our dogs all love sugar snap peas [emoji3]. Small, crunchy, sweet, high in vitamin c (iirc), low calorie - a good treat.

:( Geordi does that too. Play with them awhile, maybe crunch them up into little pieces, spit them out, and look like "what?" then I send in Miss Hoover (vacuum) Tasha and she cleans up the mess.. She was so picky as a youngster, she eats everything now (10 yrs old).

If she wont eat baby carrots try celery.

Hum, a little blue cheese dressing? Na, that would blow the whole low cal snack idea.

Kibble sounds like the best crunchy snack if she will. Ration part of her meals as snacks?
