Good morning fellow Shenanigators  I woke up with sore muscles in places where I didn't know I had them. ;) I guess a little stretching is in order.

I hope all of those in the path of this storm are and stay safe! As much as I dislike snow, it would kinda be nice to have a few days off to just sit at home. Y'all know that anything over 3 inches shuts my town down right? ;)

A bootiful day in the neighborhood [emoji5]. Based on the latest updates we're expecting a little over 20", though only a little has come down so far.

The mutts are fed, DW snoozing, I'm working in the sunroom. A nice day [emoji3]

Hmmmmm... well, not sure whether to wish for snow or not, Love. Guess I'll just pray for the best possible outcome for ya. ;)

I don't really want snow just sayin' ;) The best possible outcome would be that another job that's local with roughly the same pay and better benefits would show up. Ain't happening though...I've applied every where with no luck. :(

Ya know, trying to teach yourself a dead language is HARD! I'm studying and researching ancient Canaanite history and religion, so I decided to try to teach myself Ugaritic. It has 30 characters in the alphabet, and three of them are 't's.

I may have let my alligator mouth overload my tadpole .......

Is that tadpole, tadpole, or tadpole??

I know, right? Apparently it has to do with pronunciation, which I still don't really understand yet. I'm trying to focus more on reading/writing right now. The tablets are in a Semitic cuneiform style language that were found in Ugarit. Which is essentially in Canaan from around 1400-1350BC. Of course, the Canaanites were wiped out many, many years ago, so....

It has been some very interesting reading though!

Tell me about it. It's hard to get all of the story because so many of the tablets have been damaged and are missing parts, but the mythology is pretty cool. Definitely worth looking into if you're interested in that kind of stuff. :)

I wish I could learn languages. I might learn to read them, but speaking....nope. My mouth won't do that.

LOL! More likely, it's dead because they were annihilated many many centuries ago. ;)

I think that speaking it would be up to speculation by most experts. It's very hard to understand inflection of a language that you've never even heard... the best they can do is to compare it to closest living examples. And I'm not sure my tongue is gonna allow for it either.

My passion has always been ancient middle eastern and ancient Egyptian history. In another life I planned to become an archaeologist and spend my life in the digs.:)

My mother was french and my father Greek so I learned both as a baby. Then when I was a teenager I learned english and some italian.

I regret to say since moving to the US I'm rusty in all but english.

That is very cool! There isn't a record of any other languages in my family on either side since the 17th century, other than Choctaw & Commanche, h those were several generations ago! Our mouths are broken!

Very cool. After Canaanite/Ugaritic, I'm considering studying either Phoenician or Mesopotamian. But I may shift a little and look at Egyptian... for now, my hands and head are fully occupied!
