(((((Kaezz)))))))) sorry you're having a rough time sweetie!

Love you oodles. Hope things get better for you. Will focus more prayer on that.
Thank you, Darlin'.

Love you, too! It's been a whole bunch of crap that's come up all at once in a short period of time. We're muddlin'
through it, though. Hope the results of the sleep study come back soon and that you don't have too much going on. My Darling Bride has sleep apnea, too, so I'm all to familiar with the cPap machines. The newer ones aren't too bad at all. Her mask only hooks up under her nose with "nasal pillows", and the machine itself is VERY quiet. I sleep right next to her, and I can't even hear it.
This sucks big time. I hope by now the pain meds are helping.
As for the nurse and her boss - seriously? OMG! You should not have to do this to get DB what she needs.
Isnt she supposed to start the new trial today? Are the pain meds she had to take going to affect this?
Pain meds are starting to help. She came home yesterday, so we're done dealing with their crap for now. The switched her from Fentanyl patches to Methadone pills. According to the pain doc, those work much better, but you have to stay on top of the dosing. Every six hours; same time every day. But it takes 3-5 days for them to really start working in the beginning.
As for the nurse and her boss. I filed a formal complaint on them yesterday and spoke with their boss. (The nurse was the floor "charge nurse" and her boss was a PA. That floor isn't run by doctors.) I told their boss yesterday that the only reason her PA wasn't in the hospital himself is because I don't have time to deal with assault charges.
She starts the trial on Monday next week. Well, Monday is a day full of scans, Tuesday is a meeting with the oncologist, then Wednesday will be a 14 hour day because that is the day that she takes the first dose, and they want to do blood tests every hour for 12 hours. The pain meds shouldn't interfere, but hopefully they'll be working well enough to keep her comfortable for all of those appointments.
Oh Kaez, my "liking" your post was not a true "like". I am so sorry you both have to go through this. We are here for you, and send our own kind of prayers and best wishes. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!
Thank you, Cathy. I completely understand. I'm just glad that I am able to be there with her to advocate for her care. A lot of times, the nurses don't like me a whole lot, but I don't really care. I hold them to a certain standard, and some of them really don't appreciate that. They aren't all that way, though. Some of them have truly been exceptional, and I always make it a point to fill out one of the "kudos" cards that they have. I've seen a few of the cards that I've filled out posted on the walls in the various units.
Oh Dear Kaezz! I wish there was something to help her. Even if just with the pain. On my knees for her!

She's feeling a bit better at the moment. Definitely better now that she's home and can rest comfortably without all of the people pokin' her and she can just sleep. Thank you, Darlin'!
I fully understand what you are talking about. The ability of nurses to separate themselves from what a patient is experiencing allows them to think & respond clearly & calmly. But too often they stray across the line & fail to act at all. Or over react in the wrong way. Light a fire under them, Kaez

Yep. That's exactly right. And then some of them are just there to pull a paycheck, and truly just don't care. The floor that she was on this time was the "Clinical Decision Unit". Typically patients are only there for 24-48 hours, then they either go home or get transferred to a different unit. That charge nurse was only interested in getting her off of the IV pain meds so that she could send us home and get us off of her floor.
"Light a fire under them"? HAHAHA! I was about to just set them on fire!
I soooooooo hate to hear this!! Was completely expecting a good report. What more can they put her on for pain management, and her still be conscious? ((((((((((Kaezz and DB))))))))))
I know, hun. Sadly, I think we are getting close to the point where there won't be a whole lot of good news or good reports. As for pain management, they switched her 'long-acting' pain meds around a bit. The next step will be to put her on a pain pump if this stops working... {{{{{{{{{{Deb}}}}}}}}}}
We got a rare second bird down the stove pipe this year. After a few minutes touring the great room (he liked perching on the ceiling fan [emoji5]), our unexpected guest decided to depart through one of the open windows. I topped off the bird feeders, since birdie will likely be hungry after a few boring hours in the stove, waiting for me to free him.
We were "this close" to getting my new car. DW found one new minor paint blemish, no biggie (there was a worse one that would be a "we owe" for the dealer to fix at a time convenient to us), I found the "whoops" item. There was a windshield wiper shaped scratch on the front window, like someone ran the wipers with no blade on the passenger side, so the arm was dragging on the glass.
I gave the sales manager an earful since both cars we were going to take (this was round two, first car they were talking about replacing a rear quarter panel and a door panel) had factory blemishes and things that clearly happened after delivery to the dealer (ice scraper scratches and the window scratch)
Net, I get to go back to the credit union tomorrow, have the second loan check cancelled (like the first [emoji5]).
The dealer is going to give us the next one coming off the factory line, presently being built, so it'll have our desired packages and not have dealer lot errors. They'll flag it at the factory, to make sure it gets a thorough inspection. Price should be knocked down again, it may well have a couple more bells and whistles comped. (It's pretty embarrassing for buyers to have to find factory QC errors, as well as obviously ham-fisted people messing up the cars post delivery.)
I've now been to the dealer 5 times, don't have a car in hand. I've been driving the same series for 18 years, bought 4 from the same shop, all service done there. It's a premium vehicle, known for build quality, so two vehicles each having multiple factory errors is something that shouldn't happen.
Hopefully in about three weeks I'll get a car [emoji3]
Sheesh! They're really making you work for this car, Brother! I'm surprised that they're having so many quality issues with that brand. At least they're working to make it right, and it should be much better when you get the newly built model from the factory. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they set ya up with some really nice extra bells and whistles as compensation for your extreme patience!
Absolutely. Brcause if they dont they will eventually burn out and not be able to give great care to their patients. But there is no excuse for copping an attitude with Kaez.
No excuse, and not a wise decision... she should have recognized that I am not someone who will let things go idly by. I'm sure she'll figure it out when she comes in for her next shift...

I pulled no punches when I filled out the complaint.
G'morninz!
Note to self..... Make sure one is at the BOTTOM of the basement stairs before wheeling to discipline the Kitteh for picking on HRM

My mod never hit the floor (although the rest of me did

)
DINGER!! Damn the mod... no more YOU hitting the floor!! I've been to the emergency room twice in the past 4-5 months because of falls... my Darling Bride is still dealing with the wrist and ankle from those falls, and that was on carpet! I sure as heck don't wanna hear about you being laid up from takin' a tumble.

Seriously, Darlin'... I hope it wasn't too bad of a fall, and that you aren't too sore from it later. Please, be careful, hun... I love you. I know you're prolly fine, but I really don't wanna see you hurt.
