Oh my goodness! I am addicted to a new to me TV show. Has anyone else been watching Live PD? It is a Law, Crime, Reality show that is on A&E channel. It is an updated Cops. They are a live show and they usually have 6 or so departments that have live cameras cover a wide gambit of calls.

I hope you and SO get time with the trainer to learn what Jedi was taught and how to follow through and continue the training.

How exciting!

A bizzy weekend.

With the help of our neighbor's truck we got our homemade boat into the water yesterday. I need to mount the anchors and ladder, but we went out for a leisurely 90 minute cruise

(Given it's effectively a 1300 pound section of dock, with four adults, pulled by a 40 pound trolling motor, leisurely is the only pace [emoji5] I'm looking for a 4hp long shaft two stroke engine, to give us more range and okay performance when things are a little windy.)

Saturday and today I was certifying 9 students for SCUBA. Even with two DMs assisting it made for two long days. As the instructor I have to personally see all the skills demonstrated, with several of them requiring one-on-one checkouts (anything with a reg leaving the mouth, or a chance of a student bolting, must be done that way).

I ended up treating the group as four different teams, DMs staying with three teams while I would bring the fourth underwater for skills. With a group of up to 6 people I can typically have them all underwater, rack out multiple skills with the whole group at one time, but 9 was beyond the point where that works; too much herding students, for that to work.

Net, all 9 did fine, I may teach a couple of advanced classes since many of the people expressed interest in doing some more classes this summer. One class is an easy one evening activity, the other one I need buy-in from DW on, since it would be done on two Sundays in late Summer. (At least the days would be reasonable length, not 11 - 12 hours like this weekend.)

Sounds like you have your summer in high gear. With a boat, too! Yay!

Hi all!

We added a load of topsoil on the slopes of our driveway culvert, plus erosion control straw matting, now it's just waiting for grass to grow.

We had a water glitch a couple of days ago, pump couldn't pull enough from the relatively new well.

What did you do about the hole by the driveway?

The hole is all filled. They excavated down, pulled the old, completely beat, culvert, installed gravel, new culvert, crushed rock, them the new top soul and erosion matting (mixed in grass seed before the matting went on).

Our well is iffy, right now, not recovering enough to handle a sustained draw. Waiting on the guy who drilled our new well a few years back to come by with his camera to see what's up. Best case it'll be a bit of sediment that he can pressure wash, get it flowing better again.

I chatted with the well guy today, expect he'll be by Thursday (he's already been by once, just a quick check-in). Since he originally did the new well a couple years ago, there's some incentive for him to work to get it running good again. Worst case we have him punch down to the next deeper water layer (the new pipe can accomodate another round of drilling, IIRC, it's a wider diameter), though I really hope it's just a sediment kind of issue (he hasn't heard of issues from other well owners near us on the street).

I'm sitting outside enjoying the sunny weather. My daughter ask for some ribs for dinner. Two racks and the bits and pieces so far in the smoker. She will be going to the store in a bit to get some jalapeno peppers so some poppers will be added in a little while. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July.

Town down the road puts out spectacular fireworks every year so that's where we'll be tonight.
The small city where i live always puts on a great fireworks show, and for several years, they set them off in the park right next to my house,so my yard was THE place to be haha. Now,they built a little water park thing in that park,so they moved the fireworks show about a mile away, which is kind of nice,i don't have 5,000 or more people right on the other side of my fence, but it also kinda sucks because now we can barely see them from my house, and i won't go fight the crowds where they do them now.

We caught fireworks in Skaneateles Tuesday night.

Last night we went to our camp at Cross Lake a little before 10. We could see the official fireworks from a nearby town, and a bunch of people around the lake launch their own fireworks. About every 5 minutes a different house would start launching things; sone were fairly simple, others were big (things like crysanthemums)
