When I was in the hospital recently the same type of thing happened to me with some procedure that a nurse told me had been ordered for me. When DH and I questioned her she double-checked on it and she found out none of my doctors had signed off on it so they didn't do it. I guess they get their wires crossed sometimes.
That is absolutely beautiful!!! And it looks like it would be so comfy to hold

Putting up a request for White Light, Positive Energies, and Prayers.... Been a ROUGH week.
SO's leg has gotten infected, and she's been in the hospital since Tuesday. Not sure if she's coming home today or tomorrow. I believe they have (or will) put in a port because one of the best people from the IV team took three tries to set an IV (with an INFANT NEEDLE). She's tired and frustrated and angry and hurting and depressed and..... We all know that something like this will likely happen again
I'm simply exhaustipated.
I am sending every ounce of good things that I have both of your ways to help in the healing processes!
Oh, just a quick update to let you all know how weird life can be...
Back in 1997 when I was expecting my youngest daughter, we were stationed in Ft. Cambell, KY. My hubby and I had a really good friendship with another couple and had decided to name our baby after him if we had a boy. His name was Jason (but everybody called him CC). When I was about 4 months pregnant, the hubby was released from the military and we moved to Mississippi to be closer to his family.
The hubby refused to believe we were having a girl and wouldn't even discuss girl names....so I found the only female form for Jason that I could, and we named our daughter Jae Glenna (if she had been a boy it would have been Jason Glenn--Glenn was my grandad's middle name.)
By the time I had her, we had lost contact with Jason and his wife--I lost my address book during the move, and the hubby's cell phone died so we lost their phone number. We made a trip back up there when she was about a year old, but they no longer lived in the same house, so we weren't able to find em.
Flash forward to yesterday (Jae is now 19....).....hubby found someone on facebook with our old friend's name. He took a gamble and messaged this guy to see if it was possible that it might be him (not the first time he's done it in our search for this couple). He promptly got a reply back that said "Hey man, how the h*** you been doing? We've been looking for you for years!" Jason was floored when the hubby told him we'd actually named our daughter after him And....they still live in the SAME town they were in when we moved lol! We are now making plans to make the 7 hour road trip to go see em

That is so fantastic and hits home for me. When I was young I rode horses, mostly hunters. A girl I literally grew up with, walked to school together every day since her kindergarten, rode with me. We were a team, did crazy things together. After high school we lost track of each other (she was 1 year younger than me and I had some health issues that tore lots of my friends from me). I found her on Facebook a few years ago and she came to a dog show in Dallas TX. It was grand! Crazy things I remembered she confirmed were correct (like jumping the horses over picnic tables where people were picnicking) and it was so great to see her.

Prayers going up, Dinger. And sending big hugs for both of you. I'm a hard stick, too. I get infusions & bloodwork every few months. I drink LOTS of water. And I don't mean sipping enough to quench my thirst. I carry around a 30oz RTIC tumbler & refill it about 6 times a day. As long as I'm faithful to do that sticks go pretty well. If the one I've sent isn't fat enough let me know. I was limited with the size of the wood blank. I have another blank that is larger and I can make a thicker pen. It isn't the same type of wood, as a matter of fact, I don't even know what kind it is. Don't hesitate to let me know. Your comfort while writing is important and is my ultimate goal.
So bad. And I was going to PT for tendonitis in my legs at the same time. I was miserable. Such things happen when you decide everything is arthritis and take NSAIDS until you get a stomach bleed.
I keep trying to catch up, but teh carp keep gettin' in the way...

Thank you, Darlin'. She is still in the hospital right now. Mama said that they finally diagnosed her with preeclampsia. Her blood pressure has been running high, but they're finally getting things under control. And you KNOW that if I make it up there, we WILL be meeting up for coffee or lunch or somethin'!
Hahahahaha!! I can picture the history in my mind... Sounds like he's a good kid, though.
Prayers and love, Darlin'. She is going to have a long, hard road ahead of her and I will most definitely be keeping all of y'all in my thoughts and prayers.

DB has always been a hard stick, too. I see that they decided against the PICC line, and that's a good thing... those things are maintenance PITAs. An implanted port is a much better option if they decide to go that route in the future. The PICC line is temporary (usually 6 months or less) and then it gets removed. The port is implanted under the skin and is accessed by sticking a needle through the skin and into the port. Those are more permanent (though they can be removed), because they require a minor surgery to install/remove. DB has had her port for a couple of years now and has had no problems with it at all, and almost no maintenance. She did do the PICC line thing for about 6 months while she was on her first chemo round... that thing sucked, but it was better than constantly having to get stuck.
I'm familiar with the exhaustipation, Love, and you have my thoughts and prayers. The down slopes of these health cycles suck... all my love to the both of you!!

Good morning...I think. I've been busy for the past few days running errands for Laura in preparation for her move. This is one of those times that working the evening shift is a good thing. Big changes coming for us all. Thank goodness, I only have to work Saturday and not the whole weekend. Supposedly, we're off next weekend. Temps here are projected to be 100 for the next 2 days. 98 on Sunday so I don't intend to leave the house!
I scared myself the other night. I was clipping Nala's nails. Got to the very last one and as I was getting ready to clip the last one, she moved and I clipped it too close. The next thing I know she's bleeding all over the place! I googled it then sent Colton to the kitchen for cornstarch. I did what it said and after dipping the nail in the cornstarch the bleeding instantly stopped. What a relief!

@DingerCPA PICC stands for peripherally inserted central catheter. I remember that from when I worked.
@Kaezziel I had never heard about preeclampsia so I looked it up. Mayo Clinic says it only occurs during pregnancy. I'm confused.

Very cool! I've lost track of pretty much everyone I ever hung out with from high school and the military... Might be fun to try to track some of them down at some point!
Yeah, that's never fun. I quicked one of the kitty's claws once... he was NOT happy about it. The cornstarch does work extremely well to stop the bleeding, though!

Yeah, you have to be very careful with the PICC lines, because if they aren't taken care of properly then infections can get in... and the infection will likely go straight to the heart.
The biggest PITA is shower time... have to wrap the arm in cellophane and tape it up really well so that it doesn't get wet AT ALL... I know what you mean about them digging and leaving terrible marks... between those marks and DB falling and breaking her wrist and ankle, I'm pretty sure that the ER and ambulance people were sure that I was beating her. The one constable that came by the house seemed quite suspicious at the beginning...
Sorry, Bea... my sister just lost her baby. She was 7 months pregnant and the placenta ruptured due to preeclampsia.
She is still in the hospital and should hopefully be able to go home Sunday or Monday...@Kaezziel What happened to your sister brought back a memory for me. Years ago I stumbled onto Mom's Online. It was a forum much like this that consisted of mostly mothers. I made some very good friends(and still have most of them on Facebook) and we all followed each other from forum to forum as they closed down. Anyway, one of the members there was joyfully anticipating the birth of a daughter after having previously given birth to 2 sons. This girl was going to be her last baby for her and her family. She went for her normal 39 week checkup but the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. Ultrasound revealed that somehow the umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck in utero and cut off the blood supply. They induced her with pitocin the next day. It was a sad few weeks on that forum. She did go on to have another little girl 2 years later.
SO is going into night #4 She's pizzed, and I'm still exhaustipated, and the dawg is confused.....
