I'm actually doing quite well. Chemo is working slowly but surely. :D

Numbers are improving so that is a blessing. CT or PET scan after Thanksgiving will tell us more. I have an appointment with a doctor in one of the top 10 cancer centers in the country (rated #7 on the list) so I am getting a second opinion on what comes next. That appointment is on the 21st in Philadelphia.

I am still positive that I will beat this. There is no other option ;)

Like my oncologist said, I look fantastic and anybody that I happen to tell I have cancer, cannot believe it. I don't feel like I have it. She said that I am LIVING with cancer... I said I AM LIVING. Period. Cancer is just something that is dying inside me. Each time I get treatment it is killing even more of it.

I am doing Great!
Great attitude!!! (((Hugs))).

May I ask for the list of the top cancer centers you mentioned?

Could have sworn that I'd answered this earlier. Yes, Brother... I do indeed love darker roasts! :D

Nope, Glenlivet is not the best way... Blanton's was a little better though. ;) Damn, and I thought Woodford Reserve was good.... Honestly, the Glenlivet wasn't bad, I just drank way too much of it at one sitting. Very little walking involved afterwards... This roller coaster sucks though. But, you're right. I definitely need to get focus back on myself and finding what makes me smile. There's gotta be some more joy out there somewhere.

Love you too, Sister.
Take your time, Kaez. Give yourself a break. I agree with everything Deb said. There are so many connections between spouses who are truely committed, truely love each other & have been thru so much for such a long period. This is still an open wound. In the healing process. (Key word "process") There is a process in grieving that your mind, will, & emotions go thru. You can't ignore it, distract yourself from it, hide from it, or rush it. It is going to happen. There is a point of release that you will reach. It's a process that has to occur. It's healthy. Don't let anyone tell you when or how when each step happens. Slow down & follow your own process.

My nephew passed unexpectedly in late September. He had been married for 9 months, but they had been together for several years. Her parents weren't delighted with her choice of husband. And they continually made that clear to her. When David passed her family stepped up for her in what I am sure they consider a supportive way. But they were not committed or invested in that relationship. They have a "whew, glad that's over with" kind of behavior with it. They are asking about her dating, & most recently, when is she going to stop wearing her wedding rings. Her family is in CO, & CA. She has chosen to stay here for now. I understand why. She needs that distance from their pressure to move on so quickly. It's been less than 2 months. She is still dealing with all of the real life issues such as insurance, ashes, taxes, medical bills, his vehicle. He is still a part of her life everyday. She is coming to his family for help in making decisions, & advice. And comfort. I'm so glad she has us to love her thru this.

The centers that I am looking at are the top ten for colon cancer. Some specialize in different cancers. Some better in one area over another.

The one I'm going to is Penn Presbyterian in Philly.

I'll try to find the link...

https://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/hospital-ratings/colon-cancer-surgery

There is also a list of the top 20 cancer places: https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/866909

I am also keeping the option of Moffit in Tampa on the back burner. They were moved up in ranking recently but I'm not sure if I totally trust that it's not a fluke.

I have to say, vaping taught me about advocating for myself. It taught me to do my own research. In a sense, it gave me the tools that I totally need now. For that I am even more grateful I found vaping. :)

Hi, Robino1.
I'm so sorry to hear that you have colon cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is the short story /version of my (step) dad...he is my Dad.
40 yr two PAD. He quit smoking cigs.
Found out he had colon cancer in 2016. Chemo started in December 2016...six treatments....ended in February 2017. He Was suppose to have more chemo, have surgery to remove some of his colon, and get a bag, he decided not to do either. He couldn't handle the side effects of the chemo. In February he started drinking Roasted Dandelion tea three times daily. In June he went to the Drs to get a CT scan to check on the cancer....June 28th results came back...No Cancer :) He continues to drink the dandelion tea.
Update:
On October 19, 2017 he went in for another CT scan.
October 30, 2017 he seen his doctor to get the results. He is cancer free.
He continues to drink the roasted Dandelion tea three times daily. He is doing well.

I hope you may consider looking into this. There are quite a few stories of folks who have gone this route and have kicked this nasty disease out of their bodies.

@Robino1 You're Welcome :)
I truly hope and pray you get rid of this nasty cruel disease.

Where I live they don't have the raw form, not in tea bags of roasted Dandelion. I buy the raw form from Amazon. You can find it on other sites. But you can buy the tea bags from Walmarts or any health food store has it in the tea bags.
It needs too steep for 10-15 mins before drinking.

Good to know. There are many different teas on my google search. I'm assuming the root is the main part I'm looking for.

I also wonder if getting the root, like you do, is better since we can't be sure of what exactly is in the tea already packaged. Hmmm. Decisions.

Could you post a link to what you get? I prefer going with something that has already been ....vetted .. if you know what I mean. :)

Yup, I know what you mean. Yes, this is the root.

My dad is getting the tea bags from Walmart and at times from the health food store. The tea bags are just simpler to use. Just put them in hot water...cover and let steep for 10-15 mins. With the raw(loose)tea you need something to put it in a tea ball or a coffee cup designed with mesh to keep it at the bottom when drinking. I have/use Stanley coffee press. I use quite a few herbs and drink quite a bit of hot tea. I rip the tea bags open and mix it with dandelion. If I just want hot tea I put the bags in and put the mesh thing in to keep the bags on the bottom. It is really nice to have the coffee press. This is the one I use:

Still in cny, first leg of my business trip got cancelled due to weather.

I hung out at the airport for some time, trying for alternate bookings. A colleague (3 of us headed out) has been playing phone tag with airlines and our compliant travel agent for 5 hours.

The current theory is that we take a 6am flight, reach our destination at 12:30 am Tuesday local time, then start off with meetings that day. I'm fighting against this, since IMO I would be toasty both Tues and Wed doing this. Instead, take a mid afternoon out, Atlantic flight at night, get in Tuesday afternoon; nothing more than a meet and greet, casual dinner Tues, and we'd be ready to have reasonable meetings starting fairly early Wed. I've done enough trips to know what works well for me, whether trying to cram in more is doable or actually counterproductive.

Thank you Robin.

I agree with you. We must be our own most staunch advocates. I've always done so but the ibternet has made it so much easier.

I too am a tea drinker. My only vice in life…I use loose leaf teas only that I put in the tea ball to steep and usually drink at least a quart a day. I have the Stsnley 14 oz mug that looks just like your coffee press.

But you say you use the coffee press to make loose leaf tea?

Also I wonder if there is any research about any other forms of cancer that dandelion root is good for? I guess I'll google it.
