The first part of this weekend's rozting, Burundi Rugori. I'm not sure which bean will be up tomorrow.

I actually tossed two sets of this one. The roasting profile (time/temperature/fan speed) I normally use didn't result in a proper first crack, it took some playing around to dial in.

I liked mine but quit using it. Every time I changed the batteries, taking them in and out was tearing the battery wrap. I've had to rewrap 3 batteries from using this mod.
It can be rough on my wraps but, I hold the battery in line with the sled, depress the POS plate and the batteries go in with ease.

I also own an Azeroth squonk box and a Dead Rabbit BF RDA. I DON'T LIKE IT. The flavor is dull and muted at best. That's why I put the Pulse 24 on it.

And yes those batteries are pink. They're the LG HB6 batteries.

Here's the bottom of the last battery I took out.

Didn't know which response button to use. Certainly wish there was a Darwin Award button, for those who use said battery again in that condition.
I didn't. Trust me, I'm not stupid. After I saw the damage that putting it in and taking it out of the Athena, I put it away until I could rewrap it. It's all shiny silver now. My wraps are clear.

I got a list from the county level DOT for people who do work like I need, which includes two contractors in our town (permit will be a State thing, but I always try to go for a local contractor).

One local has already come by, given a verbal on the cost to do a temporary fix that will be full heavy load bearing, no problem using it for months (structurally okay even for years, but we do need that culvert replaced). The temporary fix would be done this week, permanent in the May timeframe (normal construction season).

A second contractor should be by this afternoon, and the other in-town contractor will hopefully be in tomorrow.

The first local sounds like he knows the ropes, got a thumbs-up from our local Town code enforcement officer (who is known as tough on contractors). Price was a shrug, a bit more than I hoped, but the delta is because of doing the temporary now, and he has thoughts on things to help bring down the cost of the final fix (it's based on how cooperative the local state permit person is). He would handle turnkey of the permit part, a big plus.

I really am broken hearted tonight. My lovely Chiquita crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier while I was holding her on my lap. Since the loss of my wife, Chiquita has been my constant companion. I got very little sleep with her last night as I could tell she was near passing. Excuse me while I shed a few more tears.

Oh, Jerry, I'm so sad for you. What a beautiful little girl she was. How comforting for her that she was with you at the last.
