User error, I had something that seated too far (a bad 510 extender), messed up the positive pin. Strictly my whoops.
I'm a big fan of that device, a steal. Base tweaks:
-A little piece of plastic to shorten the throw on the fire button. I used a rectangle cut out of a plastic box I had lying around. Purely user preference.
-A tiny piece of closed cell rubber (under the negative contact), to make sure it doesn't weaken with use. I'd had no issues with it, but learned to do that with my cloupor mini. I use a tiny bit of some garage door weather strip I have around.
-I filled the air slots on the 510 connector top plate with some jb weld. The connector has deep air slots, for bottom intake cartomizers, bizarre for a modern squonker. If you don't fill the slits you may get some leak on the mod top when squonking.
It doesn't leak (other than for potentially on the top air slots), seems to have low internal resistance, and has stood up to 3' falls onto concrete with no damage (I'm a klutz).
