Just finished updating my old but functional Vostro 1500 laptop to Win10 1709. An awful evolution, spread out over 3 days.

Windows auto updater had tried to shovel it in multiple times, failing. By then the updater and my boot file were hosed. I ended up needing:
MS Windows Media Creator to generate a USB flash drive.
Boot to the usb to run various cleanup commands against C: boot and other files.
Reboot to the hard drive and do a system image.
Reboot to bios setup and turn off all network interfaces in the bios.
Boot back to the hard drive.
Run setup.exe on the usb flash drive
After it's installed, do another reboot to bios and turn the network adapters back on.

Hey y'all!

Kinda slow in this neck of the woods. Mixed about 1L of different juices Friday. Slept half my Saturday away, but considering I was waking up late all week last week, I probably needed it! Sunday - church and a light brunch afterwards. Back to the grind at work today. Twelve more days, and SO will come home. This has been a long winter (especially since the weather is so goofy....)

Got a Pulse BF 80W on order from fasttech. There's a "special" code "MAP" that dropped the price by over $30. I couldn't resist.....

I have over a half dozen squonkers. The Pulse hasn't shipped yet, so I don't look for it until around the end of the month. Working on a DripBox 2 with a Hadaly at the moment. I have a couple of original DripBoxes, and they're o.k. I just have gotten used to seeing my battery level on my mods. The original DBs will "flash" when the battery is low, but the geek in me likes to see a bit more info

My Debit card got hacked a couple of days ago. I was looking at my account activity and noticed a charge to "BUYONBOARD" from Allegiant Airlines. I'd purchased a couple of drinks when I flew a few weeks ago, but this one said LAS VEGAS. I'm like "Hell-to-the-NO". Called and filed a claim. There were actually two charges - one pending and one that had cleared. Bank reversed the charges and will "investigate". It cancels that card for the time being - until the new one comes out in about a week or so. Can't even think of where I might have used that card - I didn't when I bought the drinks when I was flying (used a regular credit card).

Bastages! Get a REAL job and WORK for your money like I have to!!!!!!!!!!

You're wise to check your account history. I check every single charge against my receipts every month before paying the bill.

Hackers often do this "fishing" before trying for an expensive purchase. They first charge sonething small…such as a couple of drinks…to see if it's noticed.

Yes - @Bea-FL. I noticed this on another account. A charge for $0.54. So subtle as to not note in the entire balance, but thievery, nonetheless.... K'nidiots!!!!!!!

Speaking of K'nidiots..... I just poured myself a glass of vanilla vodka to sip this evening. Held it to the BDD's nose - SHE TRIED TO LICK IT!!!!!!

I swear - my four-legged kidz are going to do me in!!!!!!

Pulse 80W production samples are out, it sounds like release to resellers should be end of April. Too bad they didn't meet the initial (Gene chip) mid April goal, but changing the chip obviously added some delay to rework things.

SO was asking if the sun was ever going to shine here We even had flurries here this a.m. I doubt we'll do much today, as she's "adjusting" to the crappy weather here. All the kidz were glad to see her. HRM even crawled in her lap!

I am at my wits-end! There is a rat, Norway rat, that is terrorizing my house. I have tried traps, the old-fashioned big spring style, and glue traps. I'm not a fan of the glue traps as the rat suffers and have been known to gnaw off their limbs to escape. So far I have replaced the water lines on my fridge twice and this morning it gnawed a hole in the water feed line in the hall bathroom. I guess it didn't like that I put a piece of sheet metal on the fridge so it can't get to the water lines. He likes plastic and has chewed up plastic lines to various things in my garage. Today I will go the Home Depot for a replacement hose for the toilet and pick up some poison while I am there. Thanks for letting me vent.

Since we had a stretch of good weather over the weekend,i finally decided to work on a project i wanted to do for a while,but it had been too cold until this weekend.Up until now,all the bowls i've made have been small,but i've wanted to make a bigger one.I didn't want to waste any of the good cherry wood to practice on haha,so i took an old pallet i had sitting around,cut a bunch of pieces and glued them all together to get a good sized practice piece.After finally finishing it up today,i actually really like it,it has that rustic look.I call this my patchwork bowl haha.
Here is what i started with

And here is the finished piece

If i had known it would turn out nice,i would of taken a bit more time to get the boards fitted better,but now that i know this will work,i plan to make another of these,but deeper on the next one,this one is only about 3" deep on the inside,the next will be probably about 6" deep.

Thanks.Yeah,i really didn't expect much of it,i just wanted something to practice on,and figured it would be thrown out after i was done,but i was pleasantly surprised.What originally gave me the idea was a video i seen where a guy made shot glasses from old pallets which turned out really nice,but he had nicer pallets than mine to start with.

glad they reversed the charges, but stinks waiting for the new card. I forget what they call it, but you don't even have to use it, they just pass by you and scan it now, unless you have those protectors from that

well I reckin ya got sumpthin........hope it was the TomKatt stuff. Big pellets that work well. Makes em stink super bad, but they work great. Hope you get that bugger

You'd be amazed what folks make outta pallets. The really nice ones now are being sold for way too much than you should ever have to pay for a pallet.
