I've been too aggravated with the situation to mention it before, but the little Chevy Aveo my wife bought is done, lasted just over a month.
We were going to a funeral service on Friday the 13th of all days haha, and got hit on the passenger side, wiping out both front and back door as well as part of the rear quarter.
The worst part of the ordeal has been trying to get anything done between the guy that hit us and his insurance company.I will give the insurance company credit though, they have been very cooperative through everything,it has been the guy that has been the problem. He gave us a false policy number first, then when i threatened to call the police he finally gave a real number,so we started a claim with his ins. company. They took a statement from us and from him, then determined the truck he was driving, which he owns, was never added to his policy,so it wasn't covered. Now,he wont respond to our calls,or texts, nor will he respond to calls or letters from his insurance. If he had responded to them, they were going to work it out with him to get it covered, but the piece of trash won't respond.I even tried to be nice and told the guy if the insurance didn't cover it,i found a parts car for under $300,buy the car and i will change the parts on hers,he didn't wan to so now it's going to cost him a whole lot more,Karma will bite him hard haha.
Fast forward to today, this guy will be screwed soon haha.My insurance company took it over and are sending an adjuster out in a few days. They are already preparing a court case against him,and are not only going after him for damages, but will also be pushing for criminal charges of leaving the scene of an accident since he took off when i mentioned filing a police report,as well as driving without insurance since that vehicle had none on it.They say he will most likely lose his license for 5 years on top of whatever the damages cost.I'll be glad when this is all done,it has been a very aggravating month.

Wahooooooooo!!!! that's so exciting! Don't worry, it'll seem real enough at 3 am once he/she's born. :D I'm just the opposite. I was sooooooo hoping my son would be a boy. I always said I don't make a very good girl. Never been into clothes, make up etc. Boys I do great with, but never did know what the heck to do with girls. lol We didn't have an ultrasound done. At one point they were going to do one, but I nixed it. Back then they just didn't really know what the long term affects were.

Hi guys!! I'm still alive :D @DingerCPA If the training works, let me know...I'm thinking my little guy might need to go to boot camp too lol! I will try to come around more...Finally getting the last kid moved out of the house this weekend and then I'll be an empty-nester...which will give me a lot more time for....well, me :D
Really good to see you!!! Hope y'all enjoy having your nest to yourself. I was just the opposite, I really dreaded it. my son could have lived with me forever.

got hit on the passenger side, wiping out both front and back door as well as part of the rear quarter.
So glad y'all weren't hurt, but hate you are havin to deal with this!

@b.m. Dang, sorry to hear what you are having to go through. I personally think that the laws about insurance coverage are not strong enough to deter the practice. If I remember correctly, here in Oklahoma 1 out of 4 cars on the road don't have insurance. Even though proof of insurance is required to renew the tag, people get insurance and get their tag and then cancel the insurance. Pathetic!

Hang in there, @b.m. Karma
Thanks.Yeah it's going to get him pretty good, actually started getting him just a day after the accident. He was trying to not give up any info, but apparently isn't smart enough to remember public posts on Facebook can be seen by anyone haha. His insurance couldn't pull him up without a policy number, address, or date of birth, they had several people with the same name, but he would not give us his birthdate or address. My wife searched fb and found him on there. We started looking through his pictures, and there was one where he showed his wristband from the hospital with his dob in plain view and his full name haha.He was shocked when my wife texted him and asked him to confirm that we had his correct info, his response was "yeah, how the f did you get my information",he must of finally figured out how we got it because he deleted all his pictures a few days later. The best part though,is his insurance company has been very helpful in going against him haha. The lady walked us through the steps we needed to take and even contacted my insurance to give them all the info, recorded statements, etc. before we even called our ins. company.
Sorry to hear about the car, b.m., but thankfully it sounds like nobody was hurt and there's a path to getting it fixed.
Thanks.Yeah luckily nobody was hurt,it was a low speed accident, but a small car doesn't hold up well against a big Suburban haha.I hope it all works ok with the adjuster.I am fairly certain they will most likely totlal the car out since the repair would almost definitely exceed the blue book value,so in that case i just hope she gets enough out of it to get something else.I may even buy it back if the buyout is low enough, and just replace the doors on it.

Thanks.I agree, the laws here are not very strong on it either, although according to my insurance company, our state is finally starting to push enforcement more, and the courts are really cracking down hard on people like this guy who cause an accident and don't have it,which is why they said he will definitely lose his license, and very likely for 5 years,on top of the thousands they will sue him for.
Oh b.m! Nothing like making a bad situation for everyone worse. I hope they nail him. Hard.
I agree.I was willing to overlook his ignorance, and was willing to do the work to fix the car,so he could of gotten off very easy, but since he wants to be difficult, now he will see what that gets him.My insurance said they are going after him for everything they can,as well as pushing the criminal aspect of it.At first,i thought maybe the guy couldn't afford the parts car i had found,so i wasn't even going to push that issue, but among the pictures we found on fb,were all these new game systems, jewelry, etc. that he had just recently bought,as well as pictures of 4 different vehicles he had bought 2-3 months before this happened,so i don't think he would of not been able to cover $300,now it'll cost him a whole lot more haha.

Yeah, well he is definitely about to get a lesson on what karma is haha. The adjuster from my ins. company came out today, and totaled the car out.Their next step is filing the suit against him, which they said will be started pretty quickly now that our end of it is settled.

Teh Puppeh has been at skool for just over a week now. The Trainer has been updating us with various videos and status. She's learning crate training, walking on a leash, and potty training. I think she's still having some minor potty incidents, but overall doing well. SO was trying not to be a "helicopter mom", but she's failing miserably! :D :D :D

Just under five weeks, and we'll get our baby back......

awwwww I know you miss her so much! and good on ya. It's the best time to be training her when she's so young, before she really learns bad habits, but I don't think I could stand being away from her for so long, especially at that age. So Kudos to you and SO.

oh, and as of Wed, my son is officially a second year nursing student. He'll take some classes this summer to keep his GI Bill stipend, and they'll count toward his BSN, but now just one more year and he'll be an RN! Very proud of him!!
