The Kayfun 3.1 clone I'm vaping right now is guzzling juice like a big V8 goes through a gas tank! It's coiled at 1.6Ω and wicked with cotton. Nothing fancy, a 6 wrap coil and some 3mm ⊘ cotton, just laying on the deck on both sides of it.

Some two hours ago I washed it, installed a fresh cotton wick and refilled with 3ml of a 50/50 DIY juice. I've been vaping it on a 18650-900mAh ICR ePipe with a VapeSafe2 (Ohm' Law Calculator gave me ~8W for a freshly charged battery reading 4.1V on my el-cheapo multimeter). Now it shows barely a few drops of juice through the atty window. I know a lot of it gets sucked into the chimney chamber and even some might be on the lower chamber, although usually no more than a bit wetness shows there between washes.

What gives? Is someone experiencing this too? Other builds with silica seem to make juice last a bit longer but not much. I'm not sure if the diameter of the coil (2mm) or the ammount of wick have much to do with it. I'm getting huge clouds and the taste is great; also, as this juice is home made, cost is negligible. However, I wouldn't want to load it with some of my (expensive and hard to get) Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com NET's which carry not only the purchasing price but long wait as they're custom made and lengthy and high priced international shipping.

Suggestions much appreciated!

OK, the culprit was the top filling. The level came down after some ten minutes of sparse vaping. I refilled to the bottom of the tank screws and it's been going good all day. Since the fill bottle doesn't fit, I went to a b&m and got one with a thicker needle. Came out with a Kamry K101 mech too! This is my first mech, other than my pipes. I liked the telescoping feature that accommodates from a 18350 to a 18650 with Kick. My only doubt so far is how to keep it from firing accidentally in my pocket. It has a locking ring but the tube can shorten accidentally and
I don't know how to avoid it from that.

I used to love this thing but unfortunately it's killing my juices than saving money. Granted it is a good tank (when built good if lucky) but if all fails = lots of juice loss along with leakage. I really had high hopes for this tank but now it's just been some tiresome headache. Rebuild able RDA's have been nothing but easy breeze for me.

Icey,

Check two solutions I found for leakage: First. Second.

The most recent addition to the second solution was to plug the fill hole on the deck with a wooden toothpick (clipped at both ends to keep just the cylindrical part, about 4~5mm) just like it's shown on the first. Since both fill from the top, there's no need for it animore and the plug ended all leaks. Try them. Cost is practically nil.
