Hey guys looking for some opinions here, I've had my kayfun for months now and prob about 40 builds on it and I always have a harsh vape(only way I can describe it). Not dry or anything. Just throat hit that gets me. I decided to try something odd and threw a 2 ohm huge coil in there and it was a lot better. Had to use it on my vv device with those high ohms. So after that long story I'm looking for something else. I was kinda thinking fogger or squape clone. What are your opinions on those two

TH is achieved by a few variables, namely, higher PG, higher nic & hotter (lower ohm) coils. Reduce some or all of those and you will reduce TH.

Don't have a Fogger but my SQr is probably the closest I have ever had to an RDA in a tank. Awesome air flow for a tank. Super easy build. However, the best RTA I currently own is my Erlkonigin.

Could also be your wicking. It seems getting the wick just right is the biggest trick. That said, after countless builds, I find a simple 6 wrap, 28g coil @ 1.2 ohm with proper wicking is just incredible on my Russian. If it tastes funky, I know I need to re-wick and or clean the coil. Of course, the other factors mentioned above are also true.

Good luck.

I have a squape clone and the screws scraped the chimney and shorted out. I'd buy a Tobeco Squape clone and avoid the fasttech clones. I also have an Aqua clone from fasttech, ehh it is a PITA to build and fill, works good when it's set up right but not worth the effort.

So far the best RTA's I have are two Kayfun's and a RSBT. I'm really enjoying the RSBT and it is worth a try. I really like the airflow, flavor and ease of filling. Wicking a RSBT has taken some experimenting but it's working like a champ with sterile cotton setup "kayfun style" (cotton just touching the bottom of the well and pressed up the sides covering the holes).

Yeah, I had the same problem with my two Ehpro Kayfun clones. The throat hit was killing me. I tried everything: lower coil, higher coil, small diameter coil, larger diameter coil, less cotton, more cotton...everthingy I could think of including 100% VG juice, lower in nic content and still got too much TH. Ended up selling them both. Now I drip and use cartos or Reos. The only RBAs I currently use are a Fogger V2 and V3 and both hit better (for me) than the Kayfuns. They are a bit more airy on the draw than the Kayfuns also. Of course this is my opinion and may not be popular here, but that is my experience.

When I first got the kayfun, I experience the same thing, throat hits / dry throat. I type and try and try until I reach a comfort zone which is 1.7 ohm. Below 1.7 is hot, above 1.7 too light. Now at 1.7 ohm, 28 ga, 2 mm diameter, 12/11 wraps micro coil with sterile cotton ball. Whole day vape, sometimes is great and other is good vape. I guess because I'm using a mechanical mod (stingray clone) when the battery voltage drop. Another thing I notice is the nicotine level, 9 mg & 12 mg, I get dry throat. 6 mg is a smooth vape.
