Kayfun Big 26650 RDA, increase airflow?

Hello all. Finally picked up a 28.5mm kayfun Big. Finally got a coil build that suits me, 28 AWG 7/6 wrap 1.17 ohm, with (way less than I figured I would need) organic cotton. Tastes superb, and actually puts out decent vapor volume. My issue is that the stock air hole is quite restrictive. I wanted to see if it's possible to increase the diameter of the air hole without ruining the device, or causing it to leak profusely.

I am open to any suggestions. Thank you.

With my two Russian clones, I drilled out the air hole to 5/64" {.078" or 1.98mm} primarily to lose the whistling noise. My understanding is that the mondo kayfun's airhole is larger than the regular one, but not sure.

Sure, you can drill it out. Keep in mind that stainless steel is a tough metal to drill so use a new and sharp bit. A drill press with the atty sitting in a v-block would be best. Good luck and be careful.

So, has anyone drilled the 28mm kayfun yet? I am bored & almost ready to take the kayfun out of my rotation due to feeling like I am sucking molasses through a coffee stirer. Any suggestions?

Nevermind. It took 2 minutes to drill my airhole 2 drill bit sizes larger, using a hand drill and a set of vice grips. Wrap the base in a sock and you won't scratch it. Also drilled the center post pin out 1 bit size. Won't take much more as it is very thin.

No need to pay to have it done, if I can do it using what's in my closet, while I am on sick leave with strep, anyone can do it.

Now for reassembly and coil build... then yum!

Ok, so here's the deal. It still feels like a tight draw, but it's producing vapor on par with my helios prior to boring out 3 mm air holes all the way around. Almost doubled the diameter of my coil to accommodate the extra airflow. Really pumping lots of deliciously rich vapor.

Until I get my hands on the 28mm Orchid, I think this will share rotation with my Tobh atty big.
