I have been doing some rebuilding and building and I'm noticing some pretty big differences.
First, let me say the people who put out rebuild videos have a whole new respect from me now that I'm doing it. They make it look easy and if I were to try to video my rebuilds, what you would witness would be klutzy and messy. Plus, everything looks much bigger on camera-those kayfun screws are TINY.
I finally got a decent rebuild on my new Kayfun Lite plus clone yesterday. It vapes better than anything else I have-great flavor. It took me at least 4 tries. One shorted, and with the other two, the ends came out of the screws every time I tried to lift the coil off of the metal so it wouldn't short. I finally got it on the 4th try. I tried to do it the way Rip does it on his videos first- angled coil and bending the ends back to the further leads instead of the logical closer leads. I don't know why he does it that way, but I'm sure there is a reason. I just couldn't get it to work. I finally had success with a simpler build-straight on, connected to the nearest leads.
My aerotank rebuilds have not been good. I found a video where a guy used a single oblong coil, twisted by using a 4mm wide plastic tie. At first, that build is awesome! But for some reason, the taste fades long before I've vaped half the tank. I might be using too much cotton. I've been wasting lots of juice trying to work it out and for now, my aerotank is in a drawer. Anyone have any suggestions for better aerotank rebuilds?
My protank rebuilds have been ok. I've been using the same two for weeks now without any noticeable drop of flavor. I'm even changing flavors with just a quick rinse. Again, it's harder than it looks. That little rubber stopper is a pain to get in without twisting up the coil. I have big hands and I'm not sure how long it will take for me to stop dropping things on the floor every few seconds.
So far, the kayfun has surpassed everything I have tried. I did 10 wraps with 28 gauge and very little cotton-less than I use on my protank rebuilds. I'm super impressed with the mechanics of it. I do wish they would make filling easier, but I have a feeling 4.5 ml is going to last at least 2 days. I also just took out the airflow screw because I don't like a tight draw and I could see well enough to know when I had unscrewed enough.
