I just got my first 2 kayfun lite + clones from fasttech today and I have watched tons of videos on building them so I went ahead and built both of them and when intake a hit they are leaking like crazy out of the air hole on the bottom. I even tried different style of coils with more and less cotton and nothing seems to work. Anyone have any tips for me to try out? I feel like an idiot not being to figure this out.

The o-ring that causes leaks in my originals (when I use Cherry Cola) is labeled as 4C in the pic below. If your juice is a "tank cracker", it can expand that o-ring and juice begins flowing out of the air hole.

If you think that might be the culprit, you can get replacements here. (Assuming the clone uses the same size)

That 0-ring was very tight on mine when I first got it and then loosened up a bit so it stayed in the top cap instead of coming off every time I filled. Worse yet -- if it is tight enough on the chimney, and the chimney and evap chamber are not screwed down tight, you can unscrew one or both and really flood things. (hope that made sense....lol) A little juice on that ring will help immensely.
If that ring is ill fitting, you definitely won't get good vacuum and have leaking.

I have tried both top and bottom filling either way doesn't seem to make a difference. I went to the local hardware store and got a new I ring and this one is really right. So tight that when I unscrew the top cap it loosens the chimney also. I am going to recoil it tonight and see what happens. I will post a picture of my coil/ wick setup because who knows I might be doing it totally wrong.

I don't claim to be a cotton expert, but I see a few things I would change and see if it helps. I don't know if this is due to camera angle or not, but try to make sure your coil is directly above the air hole and 1 - 2mm above it. (I believe the distance can vary from that 1 - 2mm. but I see those numbers the most)
Then I'd rewick and try to get the cotton to fill the coil a little more. Looks like it's not completely filling the coil. Also, try to have the cotton just laying on the deck over the juice channels. Again, it may be the pic, but it looks like the cotton is sort of jammed down on the deck. I've read you can have leaking with the cotton on the deck that way.
Hope this helps and hopefully other more experienced people will chime in as well......

I agree. It looks as if the cotton isn't thick enough to fill the coil. Not sure if that causes dry hits or flooding, but it might allow juice to drip down the air hole. And it does seem a little long on the deck for a horizontal coil/wick. As you say, it could just be the camera angle.

Disclaimer: I haven't built a horizontal coil in months (doing vertical chimney coils these days).

Horizontal coil should be no problem.

The cotton needs to be loose enough to slide through with a slight tug, but not so tight as to where it chokes. However, that seems to not be your issue.

Someone had mentioned lubricating your o-rings with juice before you reassemble the atomizer. This is a very important step.

I use unflavored VG specifically for that purpose. You want all of the o-rings to expand to their maximum natural extent in order to properly form the vacuum seal. That 4c o-ring is a pain, but if I were you I would start fresh, and use a process of elimination.

Completely clean out the atomizer in warm water and dry completely. Make sure your coil is right over that air hole, only elevated enough to lift the coil legs off the deck, and make sure the cotton is reaching down to the "juice deck", and just touching that upper juice-channel groove. Screw the entire chimney assembly on as tight as can. Lubricate the o-rings, even on the chimney assembly, before you reassemble it, and most importantly try filling it from the bottom through the fill hole. Once you know that the vacuum sealed, and everything is good, you can narrow down why you're having this leakage.

It's not uncommon to have a bit extra juice flow into the chamber once you first assemble. After about five or ten extended draws the problem should dry up.

There is a process for top-filling KFs, and it involves holding your finger over the air flow and letting that air bubble escape as you turn the atomizer over. But that's a separate issue.

Good luck

No o-ring is supposed to be there. That's the channel the juice uses to enter the build deck when you draw in.

Your build looks good. Maybe a bit high off the airhole, but otherwise the cotton is placed right at the apex of the top channel as it should be.

Only o-rings are the 4 on the outer tank-body threads (2 on the plastic window section, 1 on top cap, and 1 on bottom)
The tiny one that surrounds the outside of the chimney up by the top cap/drip tip
The one on the inner thread of the chimney top-cap
The smallest one is on the fill screw on the bottom

The picture makes the coil look higher than it is I dropped it down as close as I could without touching. Fingers crossed I am going to fill this sucker up and see if the new wick helps at all. Thanks everyone for all the tips. If this doesn't work maybe I just got a defective unit.
