I have an authentic kayfun. Just got into building droppers and such. But everytime i do a kayfun build I am getting next to nothing as far as vapor. My build came out to.7 I use 24g kanthal wire. After I wicked and hit fire button it produced a good amount of vapor but once I put the entire unit together I am getting next to nothing with vapor. Almost like something is blocking it when I take a pull of it. It is a bottom fill unit. I just dont know what I am missing.

Wicking, wicking, wicking.

I'm new to rebuildables, and have been struggling to get a good vape out of my authentic Kv4.

I had it singing beautifully last night, masses of warm, dense, flavourful vapor.

Re-wicked it this evening and I got dry hits and the sense the airflow was blocked.

See my post Kayfun V4 Airflow of a few minutes ago. I've just completely removed the airflow screw to try to get some airflow back.

Didn't help me get a good vapour. I'm 99% sure it's my wicking.

The Kv4 is stunning with the right set up, and awful with most of mine.

here is my kayfun V4 built dual coil and wicked without the chimney on it. you want to fold the cotton into kind of a bow. No wicking is supposed to go into the juice channels or in the threads and its not supposed to go over top of the coils. Make sure your coils and wicks are saturated before you fire your mod. This build was .7ohms Hope this helps.

Here is an inline dual coil that I'm using now ( chimney sleeve on ) and this hits just as good as the double barrel build above but is much easier to build. I hope you can see how its wicked because it's working exceptionally well. The wicks are tucked down into the chimney. When you pull the cotton through you want it to be snug bit not tight and too much cotton can choke the vapor production as well as cause dry hits. This is just about half an ohm and I don't usually use anything larger than 26g.

I cant remember if I trimmed them any more or not but that's not excessive. I put a small screwdriver under the wicks right up against the coils and then tucked most of that down in the chimney but left it quite fluffy and bowed out at the ends of each side of the coil. it worked great. You can kind of see that I did the same thing in the bottom pic. Remember that your air flow is coming from under your coils, you don't want to pack the cotton in the chimney but you want enough that it feeds the coils well and I use Ko gen do. Hope this helps.

Don't know how you fit 24 awg wire in there.

Personally i use my Authentic for high ohm builds. At the moment i have a coil made with 7 wraps of 32 awg which has a 1.5mm id and an ohm's reading of 3.1 and i vape on full power on my Provari v2.5, 6v. Creates about as much vapour as my old Protank II's, huh, when they worked properly that is. As far as wicking is concerned i'll slide a nice loose length of organic cotton through the coil, place the barrel over the deck then trim off most of the cotton leaving just 3 or 4mm poking out the bottom. Slip off the barrel, prime the wick then position it up against the vertical side of the deck and place the tails ends over the juice holes, kind of making an "L" shape. So i don't pack out the barrel with wick nor do i cut to the exact length so it just touches the surface where the juice holes are. I just cut it long enough so i have enough to play with and make sure the juice holes are covered otherwise it's just going to leak. Overall the Kayfun V4 performs as well as i expected it to. No complaint here.
