I found a simple fix for the annoying whistle in the Tobeco kayfun Lite clone. Just insert mesh or kanthal into the draw hole to disrupt the airflow and prevent the flute sound. You mileage may vary, but this is what worked for me.
I rolled a messy ball of round kanthal with three strands and flattened it with small needle nose pliers to fit in the hole. Then, back the air control screw out all the way, insert kanthal loosely into the draw hole making sure not to pack it, then readjust the air control to your preferred pull. Oddly, this trick also seems to loosen the draw for me. I'm guessing it eliminates the backpressure created from the controlled flute airflow? Who knows. Now it pulls just a tad tighter than my ProTank IIs and produces way more vapor...without whistling!
I also found that the KFL drip tip mutes flavor because of the large throat condensing to a small hole. I drilled mine open a little bit and my flavors became more familiar. If you're finding that the flavor of your well-known juice is a little strange just try tips that are more open. Oh, and definitely be prepared for an atomic throat punch!
