Well hell, 30 seconds later I think I found it;

Kayfun Lite Style Clear Plastic Tank Section

Did I tell you I got mine there V? Good job. Good find. The Tobeco should come with one. But it's always good to have a spare.

Have you posted about your build yet?

Check out my post on tight winding methods and min wind resistance specs for the Protank. I think you'll find it interesting…

...my methodology for the wind has changed in recent weeks as I began to wind under induced tension. Prior I used this technique to stabilize the coil for an initial short burn right on the screwdriver bit. However, recently I've begun to draw the wire from the forceps under as much tension as the wire will sustain while rotating the screwdriver, in this case producing a clockwise wind (rotating away). It took me a bit to find the balance because I did break a few wires initially. Adding the tension though ensures that you have a tight contact coil from the outset. And by overwinding then de-winding excess unjoined end turns you can torch an already completely touching element right on the drill bit. From there a first quench and subsequent if needed burn/s under compression on a medical tweezers…

Do me a favor and try this when you can. Take a look at the pics. Let me know that you've been able to make a perfect microcoil in seconds. I have, dozens.

Good luck!

Ace I tried tightening mine down too and got the same results...I did find that it only whistles is I have my mouth completely closed but doesn't if I let a little air slip in between my lips...isn't that called something? Still getting used to the terminology!

Savagemann you said the Russian doesn't have the whistle but is that with drawing with your lips closed? and does the original kayfun Lite whistle?

and BTW thanks to all of you guys help I was finally able to get a build that worked for me and it is wicking great now!

Yep. Always drawing with lips closed.
I don't have a kayfun, just the russian.
But I have read of people having whistling issues with the original kayfun lite.
Check out the kayfun vs russian mega thread.
Lots of reports.

They've arrived at fasttech. Click on new arrivals, it's the last item at the bottom of the page.

I'm thinking the vapor break is the tobeco though. Here's one of the highest prices I've found on one and the pictures look the same. Tobeco Kayfun Lite Clone

$70 for a Tobeco KFL (91%) CLONE, are they freakin crazy....

"The Tobeco should come with one"

See, I need to slow down and READ

The one I ordered comes with all metal sections. Also found the section couple bucks cheaper at Ultra Vape and cheaper shipping. Just received a black Friday order from them, 20 15ml bottles of eliq for $20, and they shipped pri mail immediately for $3, still blown away by all these bottles.

Another order shipped today where I added some wire and wick, will be looking for cotton locally.. so I should be ready to start learning coils firsthand soon. Again thanks for the advice & direction, bookmarked.

I haven't been able to tinker w/ it yet. I'm waiting for my tank to become empty. It's got boba's in it so I don't want to waste even a drop. I've been hitting this thing all day too trying to empty it but I still got a little ways to go. For some reason the liquid seems to lasting longer than usual today and I have the wattage set a bit higher than usual too.

In other news... I have been vaping this on my NEW SEMOVAR which arrived early this morning!!! :)
Now I understand what provari owners mean when they talk about the 'smooth vape'. This thing definitely produces a noticeably better vape than my vamo. It's smooth.

Lol, well you'd think so, but did you notice that they're out of stock. I wonder how many they sold at that price. I'm amazed at how cheap a lot of stuff is when bought in bulk, and the amount of mark-up by US vendors. Of course, most US vendors are good at replacing bad equipment, but my guess is they're still doing ok.

Yeah, well, don't be in a hurry. I've been waiting on the Kayfun 3.1 ES version (https://www.fasttech.com/p/1494700) since I ordered it Nov 1st. They had manufacturing issues, so It finally shipped last Tuesday, but is sitting somewhere in the mayhem that is Singpost.

I bought what appears to be a Tobeco from eBay (seller "tasghran") for $39.49 shipped, and shipped fast (ordered on Thanksgiving at it was at my door Saturday afternoon).

I also have the EHPRO version of the Kayfun 3.1ES and Kayfun Lite that I picked up from eCiggity.

Comparing to the EHPRO, the "Tobeco" I received has much crunchier threads on the chimney section, but the outer threads (for the tank and top cap) are smoother. I do like the fact that, on the Tobeco, the o-ring where the chimney and top cap meet is exposed, like the real Kayfun; on the EHPRO, that o-ring is very recessed up in the top cap, takes a beating from the sharp chimney top, and is a real handful to change.

All of them are nice units, really....

I cleaned out that center pin tube with some tools but it didn't make a difference. Actually the air flow is better but there is still a whistle. The only thing that has worked so far is adjusting the center screw which made a noticeable difference. I think after my now current tank is done I'm going to take it apart again and spend some time on it to try and figure out how to alleviate the issue. Or maybe someone else will come up with a solution.

I would still recommend this tank to anyone. I think it's awesome. Couldn't be happier with it.

rounding third and heading home...
I'm going to guestamate about 10 days to Ky. China post is usually pretty fast but I've seen a recent post in the fasttech thread that they may have slowed a little. By paying shipping they should be picked right up as opposed to fasttechs free shipping which only gets picked up if there's more room on the plane, or at least that's the way I understand it.

based on what? how would they know who paid for the shipping? your "understanding" is the reason i don't believe anything i read on the internet. no wonder garbage is spread everywhere.......

No.

Just freakin greedy.

Got the Fasttech 3.1 after a month and a half, had to make a new AFC screw but other than that - it's pretty amazing considering it cost less than €17.

Finish is perfect and it vapes as well as my genuine lite - wish I'd bought 20 of the bloody things.

2 posts in this thread and none of them to help or contribute... Your "posting" is the reason I believe some people need to get the sand of their vajajay when on the internets... Thanks again for coming in to this thread to spread your knowledge. G'day sir.

I agree Ace, after a lot of trial, frustration and swearing I have this tank working up to par. I noticed with my center pin after cleaning it out that when tightened up, the holes in the pin were not lining up with the airflow hole. I had to to tighten it up a bit more to get it to line up properly. That eliminated the whistling a lot. Still get it here and there but not every single time. Keep us posted

I found pretty much the same for the Tobeco I received, in particular the chimney threads. But the quality appears to be not bad for a clone. I've started to transition to originals over the past month or so and find these newer clones to be improving in comparison. This is my first KF so I hope the performance is worth all the hoopla about this version. I ordered from a reliable US vendor so fingers crossed.

Good luck!

:)

Looking good. I just ordered another fun-a-like from fasttech. 28.31 from vapor break and 26.70 from fasttech. Now let's see which one gets here first.
