I have been vaping quite heavily on a Kayfun Mini for about a week, now. All vaping has been using an Ego Twist.

First, the machining, fit, etc., is excellent. Second, I have listed the coils that I have used, below:

Figure 8 of 2mm Ekowool, and 5/4 coil using 32ga Kanthal, 2.5 Ohms
Good performance, good flavor at 3.5 to 4.0 Volts. 50/50 Vg/Pg

Figure 8 of 2mm Ekowool, and 6/5 coil using 32ga Kanthal, 2.8 Ohms
Good performance, good flavor at 3.7 to 4.2 Volts. 50/50 Vg/Pg
Vapor not as good as 5/4 wrap

Figure 8 of 2mm Ekowool, and 6/5 coil using 30ga Kanthal, 2.1 to 2.2 Ohms
GREAT performance, GREAT flavor at 3.8 to 4.1 Volts. 50/50 Vg/Pg
I vaped with this coil and wick for 2 1/2 days, and went through 11 to 12 ml
The coil/wick was still wicking pretty good, and I wish that I had just refilled it again, but I wanted to try a microcoil and cotton
I have been used to juice turning REALLY dark and caramelizing in a SVC Mini Nova. Does not happen in the Kayfun. There was a slight trace back-flowing through the wicking groves, but just a trace. The wick was almost black when I removed it, but not too much build-up on the coil... Sure wish I had left it alone. I really got queasy vaping 8mg juice last night. Back off on the nicotine content, no joking at all.

Microcoil using 10 to 11 wraps of 30ga Kanthal, and organic cotton. I will try to post some terrible pics and a vid, tomorrow.
This may not be a fair test, because I switched flavors, too. I'm not sure I'm feeling the love for the new flavor.
Tasted like burned camels axx hair, until I lowered the Voltage all the way to 3.2 Volts. I am curious how efficient the Twist will be at this level. The vapor is amazing. I just started vaping with it, and the flavor is increasing and improving. I will update, later.

I chain vape, but don't draw really deep- just about average. I will be quite surprised if the cotton wicks fast enough with the microcoil. So far, I wish I had bought this much sooner. It works, and is hassle free. The local B&M sells a tip of the juice bottles that works fantastic for refilling. I will try to get information on the little tip this weekend.

I couldn't take it anymore. I was laying in bed, and still couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. I removed the wick, dry burned the coil, and put the Mini in drip mode- the juice is terrible.

After washing everything, and another burn of the coil, I re-wicked and put it in standard mode with my regular juice. The flavor is almost too intense, now. I vape some pretty sweet flavors, and my standard is caramel apple cut with cinnabun to take the edge off the caramel sweetness.

With the microcoil set-up, the cinnamon is putting a fair amount of burn in my mouth, and the caramel apple is right there, too. Even with my glasses, I can't verify the wrap count. I will have to use a magnifying glass, the bottom of an old coke bottle, and still end up asking my wife to look at it for me. I am becoming a convert to the microcoil. The other juice may not be that bad in another atty- perhaps it is just overpowering in this??? I will have to try some in the Mini Nova in a day, or two. So far, I prefer the flavor out of the Ekowool coil, this is just approaching too much. The vapor is quite impressive, though, especially with the Kayfun sitting on an Ego Twist. Who knows? Maybe this will stop the chain vaping. I need some water and some sleep.

Current, protection, and C Rating with Microcoil

First, i am new to cotton wicks. This tastes much better after sitting for SEVERAL hours. Flavor components must wick at different rates prior to saturation of the wick.

Second, it is cold in this room. It seemed like the fluid chamber and wick had to warm up, and lower the viscosity of the fluid for best wicking- yes, chain vaping again. That leads to the next item.

Third, the resistance has settled out on the microcoil, and the value is fairly low, at 1.3 to 1.4 Ohms. That puts it in the dual coil ranges that I have seen used on Ego Twists. I am running 650mAh batteries. At 3.2 Volts, thats about 2.46 A... That is going to heat the mosfet a bit. That is also a 3.78 C draw on the battery. SO.

Fourth, until I can get specific information on the battery, I can't really recommend this set-up. When i get back to my work bench with better test equipment, I will see at what Voltage the wall is for the max current and over current protection. Using a larger mAh Twist would lower the C draw value.

This is sure vaping well, but I am probably shortening the life span of the little Egos.

I am not big on the sub-Ohm and ULR craze. Watch some videos on RC forums of batteries smoking... I don't want that happening in my hand, or near my face. The Ego Twist is current protected, but hey. I am no saying this is safe- certainly not until I have more data. Sure is vaping well.

Ya im using microcoil on my kayfun mini as well. Im still trying to find the perfect spot for it tho. So far, i like using 30g wire at 1.3-1.5 ish ohms on a mech mod. The only thing about the cotton is that i have to switch the wick out very often as the flavor just isnt right. The ekowool def last longer for me... Idk other experiences.
For my wick ( whether it be cotton or eko) i use the least amount as possible. I dont use a figure 8 or the loop. I just use the wick straight, and cut it so its just above the floor, using very little wick (its ok if it frays, just so long as it isnt long enough to get caught up in the hole) It wicks way better, never had a dry hit no matter how hard or many times in a row i hit it... Definitely worth trying

i will try and post a pic

hey buddy i would definitely recommend a proper mod for the kayfun you have, this way you have some room for error. the micros do work great in this device, i have a kayfun lite and running some 26g at sub ohm, but these micros don't really need sub ohm to be awesome, like you said 1.3ish is really nice. also in the kayfun lite thread i have a video on the micro build if your interested.

I am looking for another mod... The Twist is functioning well, but I want to change up the form factor a bit.

Still on a learning curve with cotton. Running the same coil from a few weeks ago, but I have re-wicked with cotton about every other day since. That is not bad, it gives about 7 to 8 mls per wick. I need to post some pics- for the last three wicks, I have been adding a ring of tightly wrapped cotton above the coil around the inside of the chamber. The flavor is pretty darn intense, and chain vaping gives no dry burns. I need to make another pass with a regular cotton wick, and a figure eight of Ekowool. So far, it seems like this thing just performs well regardless. I did pack too much cotton and blocked the channels once, but everything else has worked fairly well.
