Hello, I have been considering getting a kayfun, or a kayfun lite + BUT I may be late to the game and just now found out that there is such a thing as a kayfun mini! This looks like it would be perfect for my itaste v3. After watching some YouTube videos, I hear it has been discontinued? Searching around I have found some clones for around 30 or 40 bucks!! Bottom line: is this a good RTA? Has anyone tried it? How are the clones?

I'm leaning towards ivogo option. I've read tobeco is inconsistent quality

Yeah, unfortunately I haven't had any good experiences with Tobeco. I have two of their Kayfun Lite Plus. One came with a connection pin that didn't come down far enough to make a connection on any of my devices. When I unscrewed it a little, the block on top of the atty came loose, and it is pretty much useless. The other one works, but the threading is really choppy. I can't even get the chimney section on the air chamber off right now. The tubes for the tank are a real pain to put together and take apart as well. I currently have a Rainbow Heaven Quartz Kayfun kit on it though, so that isn't an issue right now. 2 Kayfuns and both with issues has def turned me off of Tobeco.

Yes any of those will be fine for running a Kayfun. They aren't designed for sub ohm builds anyway so you wouldn't have the problem of your mod not firing because you built the coil too low. The kayfun mini is a small diameter atty though compared to the lite & regular. It's designed for an ego/14500 mod size device.

Asbestos. Do you have an original or a clone? If clone, which one

I have an IVOGO. It works great, comes in a nice kit with lots of extras...I can't complain about it. I've heard the tobeco version might be a tiny bit better in performance but...i don't know. I'm not a huge tobeco fan .

I think the main problem with the KF Mini (and maybe the reason the original was discontinued) is that filling it seems to be a chore. It uses one of those ball-valve systems, which means you need to use a plastic needle-point bottle (metal needles will damage the valve, and "regular" bottles don't fit.) Most people seem to opt for the upside-down filling method that you can do with any Kayfun, but that can be tricky too (and messy if you don't get it right.) That's the main thing that's kept me from getting one of the Mini's, even though I think the tank itself is pretty cool. Almost every video review I've seen (Twisted, Todd, Grimm, etc) all mention the filling as being something of a pain. I suppose if I found one for a good price I might give it a shot, otherwise the filling thing is just more fiddly and potentially messier than I'd want to deal with.

The overall concept is cool, it's just that one aspect that seemed to be the downfall of the Mini. If they could figure out a different filling system, I bet they'd sell like hotcakes.

I have the tobeco clone and its a great unit flavor is every bit as good as my full size Kayfuns including the authentic units I have. I had some issues with the plastic tank section, the threading on it wasn't the best by a long shot. I cleaned the threads up turning it on my lathe and retracing the threads. Got it fitted perfectly and everything has been awesome since. you don't have to use the ball valve to fill it I filled mine from the top. I tried the ball valve and it also worked flawlessly no leaking issues, does take some time to fill up using the ball valve though.
