Hey Vapers and Vapettes,

I'm a lung hitter, not a mouth hitter. So in my rda's i prefer 2 holes drilled out to 3/32 size, which is on the large side. 3/32 is roughly 2.38mm i believe. So 2x holes - 2.38mm size.

My question is...

I love the design of both devices - I do not mind that they are considered "advanced" to rebuild. The idea of having a juice tank, plus the ability to run dual coils is EXACTLY what i've been looking for!!

I made the mistake of buying a GG Ithaka. A great device, built by professionals, but the airflow on the device is obviously for people who enjoy the airflow of a Vivi Nova / Innokin iClear tanks...bottom line - there's no way to lung hit from it, you have to suck on it way to hard and now the device is a $200 paper weight.

My Nimbus has 2 airholes drilled out to 3/32, same with my Patriot RDA - they are both amazing, but I want a tank device, dripping in the car on the freeway sucks. Super dangerous.

Sorry for the rant, but back my initial question.

Does the Kayfun or Russian models have the adjustable airflow equivalent to 3/32 size? And is it just 1 hole or 2 holes?

If not, is there any way to modify it to where I can get the draw off a device with a 3/32 dual hole setup?

If there's no way to modify it, can you guys recommend device that has a tank, allows for dual coils, and has the airflow like 2x holes @ 3/32?

Maybe the SS Bliss? Kraken?

Last thing I want is to shell out another $200.00 thinking a device maaayyyy accommodate lung hitters.. then get the device w/ "adjustable" airflow and find out it hits like an eGo Twist with a standard clearo on it.

~Thanks guys & girls!

The Kayfun Lite ($110 at VapeRev) has a non adjustable fixed air hole that is airy and quite possibly very close to what you are looking for. I personally love both of mine with a micro coil and cotton wick setup. The Russian 91% is basically the clone of the KFL, costs about the same, but it does feature an adjustable airflow and a juice fill port. The difference between the Kayfun and the Kayfun Lite is external finish (brushed, polished and matte for the regular, the Lite only comes in one finish), the regular has a juice fill port (somewhat fiddly), the regular has an airflow adjustment and a 4ml capacity for the Lite vs. a 5ml capacity for the regular ($175 for the regular Kayfun).

For my money I really love my Kayfun Lites.

Here's (one) of the holes... keep in mind, there are two of these bad boys.... This is a RSST gensis atty, running 400 mesh, 28g kanthal, 3 wraps at .8 ohms

Need dat airflow or else my atty gets CRAZY HOT! The more airflow i get, the bigger clouds = the less times i need to take a pull to get my nic fix.

Off topic, but moving to a direct lung hit and high-resistance setups allowed me to drop my nic level from 12 to 6mg... no big deal, because theoretically I'm taking in 2x double the vapor off each pull compared to when i was mouth hitting setups that were running in the 1.1 - 1.5ohm range... I like sub-ohm vaping so much more than what I used to roll with... it totally made my expereince a million times better... it did take a week or so to get used to direct lung hitting... I would cough a lot starting out, but now it feels and tastes great!! :vapor:

You can remove the airflow screw from the Russian 91 to get more of an airy draw, but I wouldn't say it is equivalent to what you are used to with those bullet holes LOL. It is a nice option that the Kayfun doesn't have (including an adjustable center pin).
I'm also a lung-hitter and I actually prefer a tighter draw on the Russian because you don't need the crazy big holes like a genesis or RDA- the chamber is much smaller. It took a few days of getting used to but it is working well for me now.

Oh well that's good to know!!! All i was hoping for on this post, was a reply from a fellow lung hitter!

I'm not TIED DOWN to my airflow, I made a dumb purchase in the past, the GG Ithaka, and now I want to sell it for cheap, because I've used it 3 times, and the airflow IS SOOO constricting...The ithaka has the airflow of one of those no-namer clearomizers you get with an ego-twist... the ones we all started with... yea its terrible airflow, and impossible for a lung hitter to use.

I can deal with a tighter draw, I just wanted to hear it from a lung hitter, that in fact "yes I lung hit, yes I love this device" The Ithaka is basically not lung hit compatible... its wayy too tight, and it has "adjustable airflow" but the ithaka airflow hole is this weird horizontal line hole, not a circle.

I'm going to pull the trigger on the Russian 91% - I think it looks slightly sexier than the Kayfun, and Pbusardo's youtube review of a side-by-side comparison made it pretty clear that they are both top-quality devices, so it's a win win.

But for airflow, it looks like if someone like myself was looking for the most airy draw possible - I should go with the Russian 91%..right?

Last question... On the russian 91% - is it possible to run a dual coil setup? If not, is it possible to run a single micro coil setup around .6Ω - .8Ω range?

I like a really responsive draw, I typically never build anything over 1.3Ω ... I usually run dual's or micros in the .4Ω - 1.0Ω max.

Not having owned or even used a Kayfun, I can only guess and go from what I have heard about the more airy draw. I can say that it works very well for me and I would recommend it to just about anyone.

I have never run dual coils so I can't say for sure if it could be done in the Russian, but I'm willing to bet you could find a YouTube vid of someone getting it done.
As for the micro sub-ohm.... I run a 1.5 ohm micro with cotton and it is a beautiful thing, so I can't imagine that it would be a problem to go that low, besides the atty heating up from lack of major airflow to keep the coil temp down. But then again- it is only my best guess.

It's not my money to spend, but I think you will be happy if you spring for the Russian 91.

I am confused. Shouldn't this thread be on one of the mod threads instead of the e-liquid thread? :?:

.... thread police got me!... yea you're right though, I did put this in the wrong place I think...

I thought this was general e-cigarette discussion I didn't see the e-liquid part.

I dont think it should go under mods though, as we're not talking about MODs at all... rebuilable tank atomizers.

Are you able to move it for me bones? I dont want to piss off anymore people by having threads in the wrong category.

1. Not the thread police. Just asked a question because it looked out of place.

2. You didn't piss me off having it in the wrong thread catagory. I just asked a question.

3. I cannot move your thread. Only a moderator can. At the bottom of each post on the left hand side are "blog this post", and a triangle with a ! in the middle. The triangle is "report post". Click on that and put that you would like your thread moved in the comments and a moderator will move it.

I am a die hard lung hitter. I roll with dual 3/32" as well. I just got my 91% in the mail today. Took about 15 min to set up. My initial reaction was that the draw was tighter than I like. But, after puffing on this thing for about an hour I think the draw on it is quite acceptable. It is tighter than I'm used to, but I can still take a nice steady lung hit with it. The vape is medium warm and the flavor is quite good. I haven't removed the AFC screw yet, but I will be trying that out tomorrow. All in all, I think I like it.

Hey fellow lung hitter,

Where can I buy one? I've been google searching for days. :(
