I just got a kayfun 3.1 lite clone and have been looking forward to building on it. But I guess I got a less than stellar clone. First the post screws wouldn't tighten down on coils, as they were too long. (I fixed this with a little careful sanding down the length.) Now I can get a coil installed, but it won't read on my Ohm reader. I even pulled a coil from a dripper with known qualities (2.0 Ohm, works, etc) Anyone got any clue what could be wrong? It will fire, but I don't really feel safe not know why I can't get a read.

Yes the reader reads other attys. NON on kayfun. my only multimeter is an analog that I can kinda check for shorts, but I'm just not seeing where a short could be in the deck.I'm beginning to think it's those darn screws. I've got some more heading to me from both the seller, and an aftermarket upgrade site. Here's hoping that will fix it.

sounds like the center post screw is too short for the ohm reader but long enough to make contact on your device. it should be adjustable. May want to look at that

I was thinking the same thing. Especially if the reader doesnt register anything. You could use the mutimeter to check the resistance.

The same thing happened to me with my Kayfun. it is because the center pin isnt making contact with the resistance tester. i took a small flat screwdriver and carefully lifted the contact in the resistance tester, and presto, it works fine.

As soon as i screw another atty in though, that contact drops back to the original height, so everytime i have to rebuild the Kayfun, i also have to lift the contact, which is annoying! :glare:
