Doubt it...I've put too much cotton in, I've put not enough cotton in, that doesn't seem to affect the results. I'm not sure what happened but I'm not getting any juice flow anywhere now, no leaks, nothing to the wick. Just residual stuff seeping everywhere from opening and closing it a thousand times today.

So I just got this Kayfun v4 (authentic) and am having a hard time with it. Before, it would leak like a sieve and gurgle when I tried to inhale. Now, it won't feed *any* juice, but it burns cotton like it was its job. I can't figure this thing out; I just want my Buddha mini back!
With some pics I could probably help. Leaking generally means there is a bad o-ring somewhere inside the tank. Not feeding would indicate lack of a air bubble in the tank or the wicks are blocking the air/juice channels feeding the deck.

I learned about most of this here: SvoёMesto KAYFUN 4 | E-Cigarette Forum

Outdated, unnecessarily complicated design, it is that simple. I can get flamed for this, but nowadays there are tons of alternatives that are as easy as 1-2-3 to build, consist of 6 or 7 parts, including the o-rings, and perform better than the K4. An RTA should not be that complex and such a PITA to build, end of story.
Back in the day the K4 may have been the holy grail, but not so much anymore.

This is what I thought when I disassembled to clean it. Holy cow that's a lot of parts! My favorite tank, the one that I shattered and they don't make replacement glass for, is the Big Buddha mini. It's pretty simple, even with its dual airflow design. And once it worked, it freaking worked.

Its a little picky on the wicking. It needs to touch the holes, but not block any. Whenever I got something of a dry situation, using a screwdriver to move the wick around a little always solved it. Don't give up. It happened to me at least once a month.

Do a vacuum check to see if any o rings are messed up. If its good, it was underwicked when it flooded.

+1 Another possibility is not thoroughly priming your wick before capping (or waiting ~ten minutes for the wick to saturate). The wicking action creates a vacuum to draw in the additional juice from the tank, so you need to prime thoroughly (or pay the piper). It's a great vape -- enjoy.

Moody temperamental little things that once you make them your,.........er.............., helper, yeah that's what I meant, helper, provide a pedestrian vape.

So many better choices out there. At every price point, power level, airflow and whatever else.

Local vape store sells them. Every so often I have them knock the inch of dust off it and try and remember why I lusted over it so. Lemo 2 (which I'm also only a luke warm fan of) gives the same/better results with 1/100th of the drama and is 20 bucks instead of 180 for authentic vs authentic.

It had joy it had fun but the wine and the......................

I got it straightened out, the deck kept sticking when going up/down and I didn't realize how far it was *supposed* to turn. It seems to be working properly now, not even leaking. Thanks for the help guys.

cooler, this wasn't a planned purchase - it wasn't even technically a purchase. I traded a Goliath tank to my friend for this, since I don't like the big dual-coil piece and this has a metal tank. All it cost me was apiece of gear I wasn't even using.

If you haven't seen it, in my signature there is a very basic coiling / wicking technique that I've had great success with.

The juice control ring is notorious for sticking. Sometimes, you have to loosen the center contact a 1/2 turn or so and unscrew the base enough to allow the ring to turn. A small allen wrench that fits the holes is a good tool to make it turn if it sticks. Once you get it adjusted (most open it all the way and leave it) it's not something that needs to be tweaked again.

I open it to use it and if it's going to sit on its side for some time I'll close the juice control, but it seems to have broken in now and is quite a bit easier to turn.

Is it really necessary to close off the juice to fill?

It's designed to be closed for filling but I've always filled from the bottom by flipping it upside down, unscrewing the coil deck, and filling the tank while it's inverted. I like doing that because it allows me to inspect the coil and wick. If it looks like it needs dry burning I can pop the wick while it's apart, dry burn, and install a new wick. Unlike the K3 it doesn't spill all the juice through the drip tip when the coil deck is removed while inverted. Putting a drop of juice on the deck o-ring will prevent wear and crimping when you put it back together.

You might want to order some 12mm x 1.5mm o-rings to replace #16. The 11mm x 1.5mm rings that come with it are undersized and contribute to juice weeping out the air holes from loss of vacuum. Most of that is the reduction in diameter when it's stretched to install, IMO.

I have an authentic K4 and have zero issues with it, if you understand how to build and wick a Kayfun type device you will find they are all about the same.

Now please don't take offense as none is intended but it seems you may just need a little more experience with it and you will be fine. There is a bit of a learning curve with rebuild-ables they all have different aspects to them to understand when building/wicking them.

P. S. Lose the Vision Spinner, bet it's a tad top heavy with the K4 on top?
