I'm not sure if this is in the right place or not. I have searched the fourms really couldn't find a answer.

Looking to to get my first rebuildable just to cut back the price of the disposable coils( I have seen you can rebuild these but I'd rather just get a kayfun)

i would be be building a 1-2.0ohm coil on a regulated box mod. just curious how long will it last? Is it something I need to maintenance every day or 2? i like the disposables for the plug in play factor.. I don't always have free time on my hand esp with being my first rebuildable, I will want to take my time and do it right. So how long do your builds last?

The coils you build can literally last MONTHS. That's the good news. The bad news is that, depending on how much you vape and if you vape a "gunky" juice, you may need to rewick/dry burn your coil every couple of tankfulls. I have some juices that start tasting a little funky after 1 tankfull. YMMV. Some people seem to get several tankfulls before rewicking. Generally, sweet flavors gunk up the coil faster.

That being said, once you get the hang of it, rewicking/dry burning is about a 10-20 minute process (some folks can do it in a less time but I'm kind of a newb myself). And the Kayfun is about the easiest tank to wick.

I'd recommend you try an EhPro KFL and see if you like it.

I went through the same process as you did. My KF is collecting dust as I drip and shop for a regulated mod to put my Aerotank Mega on. I found it to be a temperamental beast to wick. Every time I thought I finally got it... 12 hours later it was unhappy again. Either flooding or dry. I am in the minority though. Many people like theirs. The worst part for me was losing a bunch of juice every time I failed to wick it properly.

For me (I keep saying that on purpose), the ratio of juice used and time spent VS satisfying vapor produced was abysmal. YMMV. If you do go the KF route plan on 20 min upkeep sessions 1-2 times per week. 20 min is once you've got it down. My first few re-wickings were more like 35 min. If you vape chocolate or dessert juices it could be 3 times per week.

I usually recoil my Kayfuns about once a month. I do rewick after every couple of tankfuls but thats because I like to change flavors. And what I do is use an old toothbrush and after dryburning and rinsing I GENTLY brush the coil to make sure all that gunk is off of it and give it another good rinse.
