I've had that issue before. Try adjusting the amount of cotton you're using until you find a sweet spot. Also, make sure your wick is close to the juice channels so it can wick properly.

As far as your lack of syringe problem, buy some syringes or needle-nosed bottles. They're indispensable for vaping. Personally, I like syringes more. For now, I'd dump the juice on a piece of wax paper (also indispensable) and then suck the juice back up with your bottle.

Yeah I managed to get the juice out. So my guess is too much cotton? Perhaps it wasn't pushed down well into the juice channels.

See the picture above. This is after I took it apart. You can see burn marks.

Too much cotton?

I was recently having the same problem. This is the video that helped me out. Just take notice of every detail.

The cotton goes through the coil but it's still snug (a little less would actually be fine).

The length of the wick is easy to get if you use the bottom part of the chimney to size it. Screw the bottom part onto the base surrounding the coil and pull the cotton upward and snip about 2mm above the the top of the bottom chimney's opening.

When he pushes the cotton into the juice wells, he distributes it evenly throughout the well. He does it very lightly though. No mashing the cotton down or anything like that. Then, just make sure to use something small to clear the coil of loose cotton fibers that may be blocking airflow from underneath the coil.

This made all the difference for me. Hope it helps.

EDIT: Start the video at 17:50 to see him wick the coil

Unroll cotton ball
Cut length to reach past width if base
Cut length wise into 1/3 strips
Roll one strip into coil and center(fluff to contact coil well if needed)
Keep wick straight across and cut to width of base.
Wet wick tips with e-liquid and tuck against wick channel against coil riser
Carefully place Chimney tube over and thread down
*Roll second 1/3rd cotton length
Tuck in a circle inside chimney tube clip excess off
Wet wicks and gently tuck to make contact against coil wick
Keep clear of Coil

Assemble, fill and Vape

Yea you are right. After rereading what I said it did sound like I said put the cotton in the channles but I did mean exactly like your pic! Sweet build by the way!!!

Thanks, Follow Crxess' Info for the kayfun, He's the one who helped me with my wicking problems on the kayfun, Now I have no problems whatsoever with the nest method.

Don't put it onto the channels, Put it on the wall and deck right before the channels. If you put it onto the canal itself it'll block the juice flow. Do it like this and do a navy nest around it and you will have no problem

Just watched ppbursados video and he just pushes the cotton down on either side of the coil but he doesn't shove it down hard but gently. I'm gonna use a bit less cotton and see how it goes.

I've tried several ways of wicking mine..with different ratios for each type.. I don't get dry hits from covering the wick wells.. Maybe it's because I live in a valley in Alabama that I get dry hits when I tuck wick ends on deck before wells? I don't think I've been able to go anywhere but Atlanta since I started using kayfuns..so maybe that's why..:)

I haven't had a leak..besides when I got that clone with HUGE wick wells that had to be packed with cotton not to leak(Rest in Peace old friend..).. and I haven't had a dry hit until last week when I decided to try following the instruction manual on the kayfun.. random dry hits through out the day. I'm sticking with covering them.. only tried it because I was seeing more people saying this is how they do it. Well, this is how I do it... "to all my neighbors you got much flavor...":)

Trial and error is a big part of rebuildables, unfortunately. Thankfully, once you get your head wrapped around the simple physics of everything, you catch on pretty easy to new things..

Any news on kayfun4?:)
