Just looking for some good starting point tips to get my KFL+ clone to wick better/faster at higher wattages like 30 watts give or take. I recently picked up an IPV2, so i'm playing around with that and my drippers, but I would like to get my KFL+ running better with it. Some things I've read are going dual coil instead of single coil. Using more wraps for more surface area. I'm using cotton right now by the way.
How about boring out the flow channels a bit?
I have 28 and 30 gauge kanthol on hand and lots of different size tools to wrap on.
Thanks!

Best wicking I got out of my kayfun was with ekowool wrapped stainless steel wire rope. I got it down to .4ohms (about 40w on a fresh charge) running and chain vaped it without any wicking issues. You won't ever have to worry about the wick burning out also. Only problem I ran into was the unit got so hot it heated up the juice to the point where juice just flows out the air hole. If you find a way to solve that lemme know.

I can get the eleaf lemo to wick like a champ at 30w with a 1.2ohm micro coil 28ga with Japanese cotton, even with at 70-75% VG but I attribute that to the Lemo having way, way better airflow than any kayfun/russian variant that I have.
That being said, why would you want to regularly vape 30w on a kayfun or kayfunish type RBA, there is no benefit that I've found to ever need to get over 18w max.
kayfun style RBA's are not designed or ever meant to be a cloud chucking device, they were made for flavor, and trust me when I say a 30w 6v vape barreling
up that tiny chimney is a pretty hot vape with minimal is any increase in vapor production, and for the flavors I vape have negligible if any increase in flavor.
and not worth the tradeoff in battery drain IMO.

This is my personal opinion from my own experience but YMMV.

Does it just kind of squeeze in a bit when you screw on the barrel section, but still make contact with the deck?

Yea i cut it so it just makes contact with the deck, it's a tight fit but it works well.

And yea I found it not worth it going that high up in watts. Not enough airflow.

I agree the kayfun stock doesn't work that we'll at wattages much over 18ish. If you want more power then that you need to open up the airflow. There is one limitation though and this is the air hole that goes thru the center post. This hole can be made a little larger but it's scetchy and could crack. I opened up everything up except this, which definitely added a few watts which was perfect for me, however I still don't personally go over 20 watts which I find more then enough. When I feel the need for higher power I use a dripper
