When I first saw the KBox, it seemed a brilliant simplification for about 30 seconds until I realized it wasn't. But while there is no fine adjustment, one always has to adjust somewhat with technique or at least be consistent. They are 510 connector, most of the recent tanks are, which I don't like using on eGo batteries. I need to try a GS Air or Endura Endura T18 myself. The T18 as a set comes with a supposed 14W battery, maybe that would work at 13W or maybe the KBox 8W setting would actually be more to your taste ;) -- they're top coil too. A K1 or EVOD2 should also easily absorb 8W.

As to your Vivi's there are a lot of options just not the K.

Actually I think most of the new big gear sucks too (for me at least).... I have a still-smoking friend who just got a CE4 and likes it, he takes really short hits and I guess it feels more controllable. To me they don't keep up and I prefer EVODs, still used very carefully though with a fire button heat regulation on my normal long drags.
Thanks so much for your tips & ideas: and yes, the kbox 8-40 watts with a non adjustable setting is no good. I think the idea behind it was good - to keep it simple - the unit seems solid and great materials. With lightweight aluminum & top/bottom is steel.
Though see? on your friend that still smokes? Starting w/ a Ce4 series type clearomizer that feels comfortable? There we go... it's all about that 'entry feeling' into our vaping world. Maybe, the next step would be the replaceable ce5 and on...and next your evod: and maybe, if he so chooses he can 'up it a notch', until he hopefully stops smoking & finds his sweet spot - I stopped from day 1.
I just wished, that if I wanted to buy more gear, even regardless of price - gear that would be eternal or at least last me for the next 20-30 yrs or so of life - something top filling, rebuildable w/cotton or 100 % yarn from Michaels, simple 1 coil, a battery unit with for
a multiple use battery. It terrifies me, if a vapocalypse happens, with all these things coming out, for selling and more selling in the marketplace (like an Iphone's, or Windows computers), which is fine if they can - but, this is about our health...are manufacturers really thinking about the future of vapers (like tobacco companies) or just want more $$. Always, w/ aworrisome cloud over our heads? And will be left hanging/left out in the cold? Most will not even get to try vaping and the majority of others will go back to smoking. Most of these gadgets are not compatible with other equipment; even within the same line or brands - from cheapest to more expensive. I was eyeing the kayfuns...and even they seem not be compatible in parts - why not have parts one can get a hardware stores in the future? & what about screws or those peek insulators & all these rubber little god knows what that don't go with each other - what is one to do ? I'm scared, If vaping is banned, I'm one that I know will go under in no more than 10 yrs or less, ....and I'm one, certain/convinced teens will be smoking more & more - if they see adults smoking cigs in the streets. Looking back to my teens, teens don't know anything about anything still (they don't have the fully grown brain cells still to make wise choices & go with the flow of things around them), if they see adults smoking they will grow up thinking it's fine & dandy & with a lifelong addiction - end up like us, that are now hard at work, trying to cope & literally trying to breathe, for a fresh new day of life.

The eleaf istick basic was made along the same lines as the kbox except it has a built in battery. Fortunately I just have one of each. The basic has no adjustments at all. It is designed to accept the gs-air 2 with a .75Ω coil. I do like the shape and size of it but I think it would have been more popular if they had made it adjustable.

I guess all companies have their oops moments and end up making devices that could use improvements. I would invest in several of the basics if they would redesign it with variable power. I settled on the kbox mini for my backups. Nice shape, nice size, adjustable and no internal battery. I have now settled on the gs-air 2 as my go to topper with 1.2Ω coils. Fortunately I have learned how to rebuild the coils so I should be good to go for a very long time.

I would love to find a small RTA that I could enjoy but all of them are so big. I guess that is because folks want a bigger build deck for bigger coils but it isn't for me. I prefer toppers that hold 2 or less mls of e-liquid. Something along the lines of the protank mini, mini Davide and of course my gs-air 2.

I would be willing to bet that you could use your kboxes if you were to get at least 1 gs-air 2. They come with a .75Ω coil installed in them. I could be wrong but I think it would work at the 13 watt setting. JMHO
Yes, these are nice...These are much better than this kbox. I considered them when I got the MPV 20 watt- love the features -love the part to charge a phone, plus came with a sealed 510 adaptor, charging cable in a beautiful clear box. I'd got the last 2 at the old gotvapes that is now, I think newvapes - but, of course they are sold out. Maybe in extinction, too? I had put an order recently, for more, which were available at the time at checkout, but they wrote back saying they had to cancel as they were not in stock & credited my credit card. Hopefully, they'll come back.
Yes, let's see what I'll come up with the K'box's. There is sooo...much stuff it's mind boggling.

Fortunately there are some great folks around this forum and most of them will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. You may want to pop into the older folks thread. You won't meet a greater group of folks anywhere on the net.
Older Folks and Vaping Front Porch - Part 5

This
is the one I use in all of my devices that use replaceable batteries. I never vape above 15 watts so they work well for me. Your other half done good :) Those batteries should work well for you. The good thing about using them with higher ohms, you won't have to charge as often.
Before, I delete all my posts. Just to let you know, I rewicked some coils - the ones that came out to about 3ohms is doable.
Thanks for all your help
