biology: Spontaneous transformation - Biology-Online Dictionary
transformation of a cultured cell that occurs without the deliberate addition of a transforming agent. Cells from some species, especially rodents, are particularly prone to such spontaneous transformation.

In transpersonal literature all theories share the common aim of amplifying the understanding of personal transformation (Daniels, 2005). These theories approach personal transformation as a process or as an outcome, as the focus of a study or as the byproduct of a spiritual practice

Genetic engineering

:offtopic: Question? Is it OK to use a different tense of a word, I.E., engineering/ engineer?

GENETIC TESTING
(the above would be dna testing but since dna is an acronym for the two words deoxyribonucleic acid...)

------------------------------

I don't see why an unspecified/unwritten rule should be a rule at all.
In other venues where I've played this word game any tense of a given word (ie: player, playing, played for "play" is considered acceptable. Perhaps the OP, @WharfRat1976 should clarify the issue.
