My current and favorite
tank is a Kanger subohm nano. My second favorite is a Kanger aerotank v2, that one is a topic for another forum as it's not working right and burns a stock coil with every
tank. I do want to get into RDA's but not terribly electrical and I need a lot of educating before I try one.
If you're using mechanicals, then yes, I'd advise getting a little electrical theory+battery knowledge under your belt.
But I'm assuming you're using regulated mods. It doesn't take much at all to get it down. Of course, if you have arthritis or other joint, wrist, and finger issues, it would be a challenge, but thankfully, coil jigs have come on to the scene a couple of years back, but are far better than what they started out as. So you won't have to wrap the coils by hand, but micro coils are super easy to make consistently by hand for the majority of us that rebuild.
Coil wrapping
Play around with this website. It was made by one of our forum members. It is phenomenal, and it just keeps getting better, implementing information for new technology(Temperature Coefficients for Resistance i.e.).
Long story short: don't feel discouraged like it's an overwhelming thing. Drippers are the easiest things to deal with. The only real learning curve is not making a mess, over dripping and tipping the wrong way...
Now to go on further with the longer story....
Feel free to PM/start a conversation with me. I've got a wide variety of experience with drippers of the past and present, so I can definitely recommend something good for what you're trying to get out of a dripper, and I'll help every step of the way when you finally do start to use RDA's or RTA's.
I don't have much experience with tanks that have came out after the Estia, so not up to date with tanks. Only tanks I would say have better flavor than a dripper is a perfectly rolled SS wicked genesis, but Those are the most advanced atomizers one could get into.
edit- didn't realize I was in the new members section, until I went to main forum page and saw my name as the recent thread in the forum.
If you're new to vaping, stick with what is working best for you, unless you're seeking something better. Get clear of smokes(or in my case, other things that were more or less breathed into my nose..:/), and that's all that matters.
Also, my offer is extended to anyone that is interested in getting into rebuilding. I live to serve!
DSW reduces the boiling point of PG and VG making your liquid less likely to burn. I have been using it for years in my DIY mixes. I feel that it boosts the flavor a bit as well as keeps my coils cleaner a bit longer. as always, YMMV
I only use TFA, and I only use VG, but my 100mg/mL nicotine base is in PG, that goes down to 3mg or less. So I don't have much PG involved with my DIY, and have never experienced burning with VG liquids.. I have when more PG is involved..especially getting around the 50/50 area...like mac has pointed out, PG has a lower boiling point than VG, lending it to possibly burn flavors.
Are you using thicker flavorings? Not trying to "fix you," cuz you're obviously doing it correct to your expectations, but I was curious on all the factors involved with this stuffsss.
I'm still surprised that PEG isn't talked about (any)more in the US.. I guess everyone's nervous about accidently getting ethylene glycol, instead of Poly-Ethylene Glycol

... I've seen some things pointing out that it is a cleaner property than PG, but I'm not going to agree until I look deeper into those sources. I was about to jump into PEG, but the price point finding it in the US is pretty steep...but without much need to steep! BOOM BABY!
