I think the dreaded ban (if or when it happens) will boil down to one factor, money. I think our gov is in bed with big tobacco, or at least the taxes they reap as a direct result of its sale. I think the second vaping becomes an undeniable threat to the cash crop, we will see dramatically increased pressure for e cig ban.

I don't see how it is avoidable, unless the gov finds a way to tax it the same as tobacco. If not, e cigs are a potential threat to a large amount of the gov's ridiculous income. Our only alternative? Keep it quite. No more youtube reviews, no more blogging, no more vapefest, no more forums.

I feel that will at best delay the process. I don't like it anymore than you do, but if you were the gov, which would mean more to you? A mountain full of petitions from vapers, or a mountain of cash dollars created by taxing tobacco?

I'm just some idiot on a forum, but think about it.

i don't even think that strategy will work - this would just be another in a long list of freedoms we've lost over the years. i'm just some crazy guy on some forums but i think it's time we took a stand and put the government back in it's place and make it FOR THE PEOPLE again.

It has been time for that for quite some time now. I'll stop there.

Hey, they have that ever expanding growth market, obesity, to move on to. You're already seeing signs. Plus, whatever you do to tax the "causes" of obesity will effect all that aren't necessarily obese. Let's face it, they've pushed hard on the slowly decreasing tobacco user for a long, long time. It's getting to the point that the black market is getting a bigger and bigger market share. What they've done in NY will show that they are approaching if not reached the breaking point.

Time to work on those fatty excise taxes for awhile.
