Start low & work your way up in wattage.
Prime those coils, else you'll make a thread saying "dry hits n I dunno why".

Get an external battery charger & another battery. Both from a trusted vendor.

Prime the coils....

Something... something...whatever juice you dig at whatever wattage that doesn't start a fire that you like is perfect.

Something....something...something.

(Cold medicine....yeah...)

Oh, yeah...enjoy your new vape. :)

It has been well over 5 years analog free for me.

I am not very adventurous with my vaping. Was a super heavy smoker and from day one of vaping - I NEVER went back to analogs. My whole reason to start vaping was to quit analogs and I knew I just needed something to "smoke". I started with store bought VUSE - yuk - super high nic but it served me well back then and then I quickly moved to the egos -- but they were with weaker tanks than they are now. Tried a few different kinds and used them for a long while. Then I finally moved to a simple box mod with the battery built in (did not really like that) and now use Kanger box mods. For me they are really easy - top fill tank - nice clouds - taste good and EASY to operate. I carry extra batteries in a plastic case and can easily change it and easily refill. I started at 36mg nic (I think VUSE was even higher) and went down slowly to my current level which is now 3mg and sometimes even 0 --amazing for me.

On a whim, I just purchased a Kanger Mini C which is a real easy box mod with a top fill tank. Just got it yesterday and I like it - everything sort of snaps/pulls apart, it vapes well and looks really nice. I happen to like an airy vape and, although it does not have many adjustment, I just leave it on the most open and am happy.

Photos: The purple one with the tank is the top fill nano, the gray/gunmetal one is the new mini C - the one with the vinyl hearts cover :) is a regular subbox nano and the other purple one is a nano that became stripped so I use it as an extra battery charger. The black one is the box mod with the battery built in that still works but I do not use it so if anyone wants it let me know and i will be happy to send it to you. I can't sell it on ebay because I will get banned so I will send it gratis to anyone that wants it.

My advice is to go down slowly on the nicotine levels - I never felt the drop because I did it so gradually. Whatever juice I purchased - I would usually get it in two strengths so that I could cut down by 1 or 2 mgs so I stepped down regularly and slowly.

I was a 1 to 2 and 1/2 pack a day Marlboro gal - smoked analogs from a very young age and became "crazy" if I went without a cig for a short period of time. Now - although I am a regular vaper - I feel I am no longer crazy addicted. There have been times that I have forgotten my vape when leaving the house or maybe all my batteries ran out and I was like OK - no biggie and just waited until I got back. No panic, no "witch-i-ness" and I feel so much better. No wheezing either.

Good luck and just try to find the one that works best for you.

So far the new mod is going well. With the nano on it, I'm still in the process of figuring out how to draw on it. The drip tip on it is much smaller than either of my sticks.

But I DO like having visible indications of wattage, amps, battery life, etc.

I'm being careful to keep the manual on hand so I can double check if I'm out of cell coverage.

I did go ahead and move down on nicotine. So far, so good. It may be that while the nicotine is what started me on analogs, the sensations and actions were bigger for me?

Still, I'm not pushing myself. I'm keeping an eye on cravings and also taking the new mod and tank at my pace.

I'm keeping it comfortable.

I have a feeling this tank will let me ease into a bit of actual mtl every now and then.

So far, so good.

Lol been nearly 5 years for me as well (switched Jan 1 2013). I started with this piece of trash:

I then moved up to an iTaste SVD v1 and SMOK ARO tanks. Learned to rebuild those coils. Now I am using a VaporFlask Lite and a SMOK TFV4 Mini RBA head. I am now looking for a new setup. They don't even sell the VF Lite anymore. So I am considering something with a DNA 75C board in it, since I really want to do more TC vaping. Having some difficulty making the final decision though.

Scott P Wow - never even heart of that.....whatever works tho, right? Congrats on your nearly 5 years! My next baby step is to learn to rebuild.

Someone my wife knows had that and let her try it. So that is what we went with. I never imagined when I started that I would be making my own juice, building my own coils, and spending hours and hours on a forum and watching videos related to it. My how things have changed.

Although I probably wouldn't be DIY juice if my supplier didn't discontinue my ADV flavor. So I guess I should be grateful they did.

Right. Vaping can be simple, or it can be more complicated. DIY is one of my favorite things! Oh, I always drag my feet getting going, but I'm usually pretty happy with the results. I've built one successful RTA that doesn't leak, now, so I feel set (with a lot of nic in my freezer) to vape for some time, if it becomes difficult....

And, deeming WILL change vaping, I'm sure, we just don't know how yet, so I'm happy to take advantage of the savings I CAN make now.

I feel dumb - "deeming" I don't get it but I know what you mean about things changing. I stepped up slowly and am now proud I use a box mod. I wanted one because I thought I was somewhat protected because it is mine and I just need the battery (and atomizer) and it can last me a long time. I still buy juice but I experimented with DIY and know I can do it. The thing I was a bit nervous about was RBA's and I watched the videos with the Kanger Mini Top Tank with RBA and I think I am going to get one. This way I really feel pretty independent and can weather any more regs they throw at the industry. I had purchased some nic but did not freeze it and I think it may be toast now.

By "deeming" she means the FDA deeming regulations that will for sure change the vaping landscape.
Also I can't speak for the Kanger mini top tank, but I love the hell out of my TFV4 mini which is the SMOK version of that tank and it comes with an RBA head that I have been using for a while.

Now that I'm getting the hang of higher resistance coils, I've realized I absolutely need a different drip tip for the nano. It's far too tiny for me to do a satisfying drag. Also, ss. Would prefer a longer plastic one.

I like my battery lasting for more than a day. And the lowered nicotine impact is okay because I still got my sub tanks with a different flavor I can hit when I need a change.

With one more tank and maybe another driptip, I think I've found my happy place.
