The rattlesnake sound is because its pulsing at 30hz. If you change batteries or it breaks connection it will rest to 3 volts or watts. It will remember if its in avg/rms mode and volt/watt mode. It sounds like your batt is losing connection momentarily. What battery are you using and what kinda of atty?

well I was wrong about it switching. It is the 6 watt thing. it pulses at 6 watts! I thought this issue was fixed with the rev.2 ? I just got this. it does not remember my watts setting either.

This issue was fixed with v2. Sounds like some-one may have sold you a version 1 Vamo.

Mine switches back to avg mode also! I haven't noticed any 'rattlesnake' noise though. It remembers wattages fine. I ordered from HC, and using button top panasonic 18650's.

Did you order the first version 1 or the version 2? What kind of buttons does it have - colored or metal?
When you say it switches to AVG - how are you telling that it does? If you set it to No 2 which is RMS, then hold a mini button down again for 10 secs it should say No 1 - meaning you switched it to AVG.
If you set it to no 2 by holding down the button, wait then hold down the button again it and still says No 2 then it was in RMS, went to AVG, and you just changed it back to RMS.
I haven't heard of anyone's Vamo doing that.

Its a V2 with metal buttons. I can tell its switched modes in the same way the OP can, the vape isn't consistent. I put it in n02 mode, use it a while, vape gets crazy, I hold down small button and it says n02 (meaning it was back into n01 mode before I held small button down for 10 secs). I'll admit, I'm by no means gentle with the vamo, so I'm hoping it could be a button just gets depressed accidentally or something.

Your the first I've heard with this. The OP has the 6 watt bug - sounds like he has a v1. Yours doesn't sound like a depressed button. Have you contacted the vendor? If you bought it from a good vendor they should give you a replacement.

I am curious to hear more on this thread. How did everything work out? Mine seems to have started doing this in the last few days as well. Been in RMS since Christmas and just now started going into AVG all by it's lonesome. I can tell every time because the vape gets really harsh and when checked by holding the button down it reads No.2 which means it was in No1 (AVG) mode when I held the button down.
I got it from a friend as a Christmas present and of course the warranty is probably out. He got it from Health Cabin. They were very good about sending me a new battery cover when the "Hot Spring" issue came up but, I doubt they are going to be as nice about sending me a new Bamboo (Vamo). I guess I can email them and see what they say.
