What am I doing wrong I plugged my pass through into it, the light lit up on the tip red of my passthrough, but NO vape it does not work with it!!!! Any suggestions???

For those of you on the Kensington Power Pack thread, I believe someone said oh you can start using it before you even charge it. My question is, it showed no green or anything when I opened it. So I plugged it into the wall and all I am getting is a blue light flashing. Is this normal? Would this mean it came completely dead? I know with my cell phone if it's dead and I plug it into the wall I can use it. When this blue light thing is flashing and it's plugged into the wall and I hook my passthrough up to it, it does nothing. Anyone have any advice on this???? Thanks!

LuckySeven4U you must charge the Kensington prior to first use. The charge time is about 3 hours. When you first plug the unit in the blue lights will start to flash when complete all five lights will stay continually lit(blue). If you use the unit while it is charging only the first 2 lights will flash. They recommend not letting the unit fall below 2 lights before recharging. Hope this helps you out.

Hi, and thank you for responding!! I was concerned cuz someone else wrote you could start using it right away then charge it. Okay so my passthrough not working right now while it is plugged in and charging would be normal so I shouldn't panic until it's all ready to go?

Lucky esmokr is right. Let it completely charge. Only takes 3 hours. All the blue lights will be lit when done. Then you can use it. If you want to check it while you're using it, push the grey button and hold it a few seconds. The 5 lights will show how much charge is left. When only 2 lights come on, it's time to recharge. I read on the TigerDirect.com site it's not good to leave it on the charger overnight. Just the 3 hours. I've charged it for an hour or so when it's got down to 2 lights to give it more charge to take it in my truck and it still works fine. It's a great device.

Okay, mine was complete dead on arrival that's why I couldn't test it or use it. It is fully charged and this thing is AMAZING!!! It works and I LOVE IT! You guys were right. You cannot be without one of these suckers. So will it last you pretty much all day into the evening before you get to 2 lights to charge? I love this thing! Now I better stock up on some extra passthroughs!

I had same experience. Do not connect the usb pass-through while charging. Some USB Pass-throughs doesn't seem to work for some reason.

Kensington Portable Power Pack

This is the model.

Yup, that's what scared me that it wasn't going to work, but it does. You have to fully charge it for 4 hours and all the 5 lights need to be solid blue before it's done. Works awesome!

And you'll love how long~~~~~~ it'd last. :D It lasted at least a week for me, and I had to figure out where I put the charger. LOL. I couldn't find it, but I found a cellphone charger with usb charging port, and it worked just fine. (phew!)

After reading the reviews about the Kensington power pack I just had to get one. I stopped at Best Buy last night on my way home from work and picked one up. I got home, charged it up and WOW!

This seems to be made just for us. I get better action off this than my laptop. I have been using it most of the day and I still have 4 out of 5 lights. It is the perfect size and I am really impressed with it so far. Just charge, stick in your pocket and you are good to go.

If you want to pick one up, and I highly recommend it if you use a passthrough, they are still on sale for $39.99 at Best Buy.

Now the hunt is on for a few more passthroughs.

Wish me luck!!

Man do I love this thing! It's been all day into the night for me too and I have 3 lights left. I imagine I'll have to charge for a few hours in the am. But to have something last all day and night, is awesome! However, it's great for the car and being at home, but I wouldn't take it out in public like this, that's when I'd have to go back to the icky batteries. I'm going to get 1000 mah mod too, and I may use that out in public because I'm so sick and tired of these POS batteries.

Just be careful though. Like anything in the world, even Kensington Power Pack battery also sometimes goes bad, stop working suddenly. I wouldn't count on as a sole source of power.

Having said so, it's more likely that your USB pass-through is going to break before Kensington - as these USB pass-throughs are poorly built - so just be sure not to yank the wires, nor twist it. I normally only use when I'm home, watching TV or surfing the internet. I also took it out few times - but it's little cumbersome to have some wire and I look like I'm sucking something inside of my pocket. I can't care less on how I'd look, but I'm more conscious that my USB pass-through would break. So when I'm at work or on the run - I've been just using my batteries - and when I'm home, I start charging all the batteries and just stick to the USB. :)

I found on my 801, original battery performance isn't really that bad, but on my mini RN4081... OMG, what a difference Kensington makes. :D
