KF V5 Temp Control issues

I recently picked up a second KFV5 made by coppervape (first was a generic from FT). It has not played well in temp control since day one. I've tried different mods, different builds.

It fires great the first time and sometimes the second, but if I set it down it fires really weak the next time. I have to unscrew and reconnect to get it to fire at the correct temp.

At first I thought it was the 510 connection because it was a little rough at the bottom (looked like the flathead screwdriver slipped out during assembly). I smoothed that out. Then, I thought it might be because the 510 pin is a little long.

I added a washer to make the connection more snug. I've now taken it apart and reassembled. Everything looked fine, but it was also the first time I've ever disassembled the base of any of my atomizers.

So, I'm really at a loss and would appreciate your help.

I've ran it on two different istick Picos that fire every other tank perfectly. The mods fire normally and act like the correct temp is being reached. Power mod seems fine, but I never vape that way.

Sometimes I can tighten the tank a little and it fires correctly, and sometimes I have to do the unscrew, re-screw. This tank has the longest 510 pin that I've ever experienced. I'll probably order a replacement and see if that fixes it.

My Tobeco K5 runs fine on my Pico, Koopor Plus 200W, RX200S, iStick 40W and 20W, and my Innokin Coolfire IV. On the Koopor Plus 200W I had to use a screwdriver to push the center pin down several times to free it from some gunk and return to the fully out position.

On the Tobeco the center contact sticks out a MM or so from the thread part. Most of my other tanks are almost flush.
