Just got to be sure all the contacts do their jobs.
Probably the pins on the Kick 2, or the spring on the Kick 1. Those have to come in contact with the side of the mod.

Another possibility is if the polarity in the switches is somehow reversed. With the Kick 1, that shouldn't matter...with with a Kick 2...it could stop it from firing.

Is the silver bullet anodized or painted inside the battery tube at all?

If so it might not be getting a good ground to the body

Great point...you might need to sand where the side pins/spring touches the mod.
Also, make sure you always insert the Kick in the right way, with the positive end of the battery touching the bottom of the Kick (A small plus sign is there...this is NOT the side with the pot). Make sure the TOP of the Kick (the side with the Pot) is NOT touching the battery...that should always be at the positive end of the mod.

The Kick doesn't have reversed battery protection built in electronically...so be careful. A backwards install could fry the Kick.
