So, real quick, been trying to find an answer for this for a while now.

Kicked SB, DCT, AW IMR 18650 2000mAh. 2.0ohm cartos in the DCT. Kick is set at 8 watts.

Would raising or lowering the ohms of the cartos make a difference in battery life? Also, would it make a difference in the vapor production? If so, details please?

Thanks!

That's almost the same setup I use with my tobacco flavors. I actually have mine maxed out at 10w when I use it though. I usually use my Provari at 4.7v with the 2.0 ohm dual coils for about 14 to 16 hours or so before I hit the low battery blinking light. I have only been averaging about 6ish hours on the SB at 10w. It seems to hit a tad weaker than the Provari, but it's not all that noticeable.

The higher the setting on the kick, the more power is delivered. The higher you go, the more heat basically. Finding the right settings is a sort of personal preference thing.

As to battery life, there would be more drain on the battery the higher the setting. I haven't noticed any sizable battery life differences between settings though. Using lower ohm dual coils did seem to cause quite a bit of trouble though(misfires, etc). Single coils seem to work better and I noticed that the battery did seem to last a small bit more than average. For what it's worth, my batteries are getting a bit old so it may be a factor.

I actually got a bit frustrated with this question. It's not as simple of a discussion as I thought it would be. There isn't really a clear 'change this, and it will change that' sort of answer when you have a kick involved. So, some nice tech savvy people did up a link to a post that talks about dual coils and all of that.

You might find it an interesting read.

Since the Kick regulates wattage, wattage will stay the same whether it's a 2 ohm or a 3 ohm resistance, heat output will stay the same, the amount of work being done stays the same. I don't think there would be any difference in battery life between the two cartos.

I'm guessing that you could get a little more vapor production from the 3 ohm coil, if the same gage wire is used for both coils; the 3 ohm would have 50% more wire , giving you more surface area on the 3 ohm coil and more contact with the juice.
