Kick or no Kick?

Hi there,
After getting to dripping, now I would like to buy a mechanical mod....but there's still something I don't understand:
In a full meca mod, do you start with a very high Volt/Watt (maybe too muc), and go on draining your battery with the power going down?...in this case, why not use a Kick to have the same power all along??...there's something I didn't catch....

Nope... you caught it. You vape until the vape is (subjectively) weak, then toss in a fresh battery. Vape "run time" is dependent on drain (resistance/current) and available battery capacity.

A Kick 2 is limited to 0.5Ω. If you run above that - and don't mind the extra 18mm+/- of length, the potential for reduced conductivity and the fact that a Kick won't work in every mod... then go for it.

Mech users tend to either - build coil(s) to optimize the available current, or utilize the appropriate battery (available continuous / pulse amperage) for the desired resistance... per Ohm's Law, you can come at it from either direction.

Kicks don't work in all mods, and are not meant for higher current uses. I tried and gave up on kicks. Two ways to go. One of the newer Regulated mods or just be good with ohms law and go all mech.

The voltage drop is the reason that I don't care for mech mods.

If you want a mech, get a mech. You'll get used to changing your batteries earlier than you would in a regulated mod, and you'll learn about how the voltage drop really effects you. If you want something consistent, get a regulated mod.

In my opinion, kicks are designed for the crowd that buys a mechanical mod because they're all the rage and they're the coolest stuff on the block....and don't like them. A kick does fill the gap fairly well, but it has disadvantages too. I used a kick for a year or so and subsequently got used to the fidgeting with it to make it work when it would randomly just stop. They may have fixed that with the kick 2 though.
