evolve-kick-2-variable-voltage-3-5v-protection.jpg Hi all. I need a new drop in variable wattage module for a telescopic mod. Anyone know the name of anything the same size/shape of the Kick2 (above), but that goes above 15w?

Is there much danger in going above 15w in a mech mod (18500 IMR 1000maH unprotected)? I can only see the 'Crown' (10w max) and 'Kick' modules online. Surely mech mods are popular enough for higher wattage versions (unless >15w=danger danger with one unprotected battery)?

Thanks for your opinions

If I did find one, I'd have bought a few.

I agree with you though... why did nobody do a new design kick up to 25w, say?
You can already vape over 15w by using the correct resistance coil, but I'd be worried about the battery as you go up in power.
What is the maximum amp limit on your battery?

AFAIK, none exist. I don't know why either. Perhaps there isn't enough room to make it within a 15mm length in an 18mm diameter configuration. But I don't think you'll find one. If you need more than 15 watts, you'll have to vape your mechs naked or buy a regulated mod.

(EFest 18500 so 15A is safe and lowest I've gone is 0.7ohm btw).

I've never had to not use the Kick. I'd problems with it (tilts the battery a bit and I got mis-fires due to poor connection at bottom button) - but there's just something wrong with knowing that each vape is getting weaker and weaker. Loads of coils I'd like to try to build (claptons etc), but the extra wire channels reduce the resistance and make 15w useless.

I think we've identified a niche in the market. Pity I know nothing about electronics.

Perhaps. But who would buy a 40 watt kick and a mech mod when they could get a 40 watt regulated mod for the same price, and get better battery life because they can use a 15mm longer battery?

Could you please tell me a good kanthal dual coil build that you use and wattage setting? I've tried loads of different types/shapes/sizes, set around 13w - but I've little experience.
I wouldn't use this build, I like to vape lower down, but a dual 32ga Kanthal, 2mm mandrel, 7/6 wrap comes in about 1.2Ω and will make 14.7 watts at 4.2 volts and 10.2 watts at 3.5V. That should be about where you want to be.

I thought that too... but there is an advantage (?), which is only needing/able to replace either part for half the money.
I always used 18650s as it happens... just a good old light sabre vape. :D
