Kicked out of an establishment for vaping

I don't drink in the US, but on holiday at my local, which is full of smokers, I don't blow any more clouds than a cigarette does, unless I'm flirting with the bartender blowing Zombie Apocalypse at her face...

i understand, its NOT my house. --- and to be fair, if being a hippocrite and lying is YOUR thing, then maybe i dont want to be at your house.

my entire life i have ben a "people pleaser" at all costs - i hate my life - the second i attempt to better myself im being told how dumb/ignorant i am for it.

im sorry but i rather every one know and speak the truth, than hide behind lies and make everyone around them miserable.


i understand there is a respect issue, but if you cant respect me enough to tell me the truth.... i dont want to know what your "definition" of respect is. id rather stay away.

This is more of a vent thread. I found it comical given the circumstances and wrote a yelp review on the establishment. I recognized the establishment's wishes but thought it was a bit out of line.

The other night a friend came over that I haven't seen in a while. I live in an apartment with 2 sports bars within walking distance. Obviously, this is a huge plus because I don't have to worry about drinking and driving or taxis.

I usually frequent bar A because of the laid back atmosphere and staff; however, on this particular night they were dead and decided to try bar B a try.

When I walk in, we order a pitcher of beer and I ask the bar tender if I am aloud to vape inside. She said of course, go right ahead! I showed her my set up so that they doesn't confuse it for any type of tobacco product which was met with a "nice set up you have there". For the record, I use a IPV mini (30watt) with an Atlantis with 5ml extender vaping 20%PG, 80%VG juice. While at the bar talking to my friend, I feel a tap on my shoulder. A lady identifies herself as the manager of the bar and states to me "I know we allow vaping in here; however, the device you are using is emitting entirely too much smoke and is bothering me." I casually asked her if any other patrons are complaining (I sat myself at the end of the bar to isolate us because I vape out of respect) and she indicated they are not; however, my smoke is blowing her way and overcoming her and she cannot enjoy herself. She asks for me to either blow it down or less to prevent this. "Of course" I reply and start to take smaller drags and exhale from my nose so it blows down to the ground. After 2 minutes of this, I hear "Damn it, that's it. That guy is still doing it." She yells to the bartender to "tell that guy he can no longer do that inside and he must either leave or go outside". Well, it's raining outside so that isn't happening.

What made me the most mad is I was told I can vape, but then it's too much. I'm told to blow it down, but I guess the sight of it ...... her off. I heard other patrons tell her that it isn't bothering them. I isolate myself to try not to bother anyone, even after given approval to do it inside, and she gets ...... and not only calls me out infront of everyone but cannot come to me herself to tell me to leave or go outside. Great manager.

Upon paying my tab, I ask the bartender if my vapor was bothering her or other guests. She stated she had no complaints and barely noticed it, but the manager is boss and she must listen to her.

Bar B will no longer be patronized by myself, and I've informed other vapors to steer clear if they wish to go here.

There are so many bars in Tampa that I don't need to deal with this type of BS, even after given permission and listening to demands given to me if I wish to continue to do so inside. With 20%VG/80VG, I was not even blowing monster clouds. All I wanted was that vapor/nic sensation that goes oh-so-well with alcohol...especially after a long week of work. Oh well.

The OP's behavior is childish, immature and pathetic. One vapor's opinion. Vaping inside a public business is asking for it. Vaping with a chip on your shoulder is really stupid.

We have a popular bar here that opened a vape shop inside. I don't go to bars but assume it is a because of the no smoking laws here and they saw a way to keep customers.

your right, the kid/you should of punched me in the face - i would of then walked into the kitched, grabbed his/your parents tobacco pipe and continued to break it "since smoking isnt allowed in the house" and then i should of threw it at your face and walked out.

Ever stop to think maybe this kid too has home / parental issues as well and didn't want to risk the wrath of his parents? And before you mention the Ego kid - maybe his parents know / like him and not you?

Perhaps instead of playing the uber passive-aggressive card with force fed education and outright rebellion you break the cycle of bullying / abuse you suffer at the hands of your father for other human beings.

We never know the secrets and motivations of others... Best to respect the home court and their wishes, lest you find your pool of friends ever shrinking.

from what i understand, the kid is a spoiled brat who owns his whole own floor of his parents house - that he doesnt pay rent for.

regardless, anyones past or parental abuse - if your going to tell me that smoking not allowed, yet its apparently allowed(followed by the pipe on the table and the kid in the corner vaping) why should i sit here and chose to follow your rule of singling me out specificaly for no reason. i was not disrespectfull at anypoint untill i was continued to be lied to and singled out for no reason. being lied to, weather it happes to me or you - you lose respect for that person - dont tell me you dont, it happens in life - if i cant be shown respect, after i have respected his wishes many times, and i continued to be disrespected WHY should i not of acted the way i did?


you guys want the honest to god truth? i can only count my "real" friend on one hand - before vaping entered my life and annoyed alot of people, i had dozens. mainly people who used to bum cigarettes all the time. but besides the point. i did nothing wrong untill the "rules" changed again under ONLY my feet for the 3rd time at that house.

Not sure if I was asking for it since I asked permission to vape in the establishment before hand and was granted permission to do so. Also, no chip on my shoulder until I was told it was too much and her getting ...... and making a scene in front of everyone at the place.

I am boycotting the place. I just needed to vent online lol.

I'll lighten things up with a It's a small world story.Last night, the oddest thing happened. Two of my ladies happened to be sitting next to each other at a club. One of them was looking at a picture of me on her phone and the other happened to look over and see the picture. They quickly made friends and spent the remainder of the night talking about me. I could post the selfie they took of the meeting, but that may be inappropriate...

I think the moral of the story is to respect what a manager or homeowner says about appropriate and inappropriate vaping...
