well, did you disassemble it all first? dryburn or torch the wick? study the reassembly?

I found that the 2 different threaded pieces were irksome and gave up on airflow - more concerned with juice-flow.

Also, I had ordered a replacement, and recoiled that while trying the other; inverted and swapped the factory core for about 1ohm in the replacement. Worked better than 2+ohm on my mech.

Submersible RBA and Tanks:

I went ahead and got two of the terminator submersibles. Chucked the stock tanks and caps in emergency only bin. Been playing around with an AGI Transformer so I figured I could pull the Terminators apart and rebuild if needed. Have the X8 from GotVapes - stock, it won't fit a Terminator, bulb is too large, so I ponied up the cash to IBTanked for 3 custom tubes of 19mm internal diameter - micrometer says 18.6 to 18.8 on the X8. Sadly, one of them exploded trying to put it on the X8 Tank. The stock X8 o-rings are just a smidge too large... swapped the o-rings from my AGI and voila! Pyrex Locking Fill Hole ~2 to 3 ml tank for the Terminator. Vaping on an eVic 3.4v and 5 watts 2.3 ohms atty reported, not externally tested, juice is a mix of 50/50 and a 70/30 coffee and Boba Clone blend, with a few drops of WTA. (Don't judge the Alien Vapor Boba Clone, it was excitement and lack of careful reading, juice isn't bad out the bottle, would be good at half the price and a different name)

Performance: Fantastic! As good as my AGI with SS 400 Mesh and X116 wick... adjustable air AND juice! No leaks, haven't tried it with the bottom lock screw out so can't tell ya if that causes flooding. no dry hits or flooding after fiddling with it, perfect for zeroing in on that sweet spot. Not sure about how best to disassemble before tank is dry, probably have to empty it with a 20g syringe first.

Price: Tank was 16, new tube was 12, terminator was 12. Throw in an AGI oring kit for 2 bucks. 42 bucks for a chrome submersible locking fully adjustable pyrex vapage device? Yes please! Even if it's a PITA to put it all together.

Durability: On my fourth tank now, still has great vapor and flavor, though I'm getting some blandness coming through. Might be my last tank before a rebuild with 32g kanthal, ss wire, X116 and cotton filler.

Worth It?: Yep. I'd get another set up like this. Maybe go take the Terminators to a jeweler and electroplate them in something tougher. Or spend the cash for a Killer. I really like the adjustibility of the Terminator and rebuilding it to my spec is bonus, just looking for a higher build quality. Now if only I could find X8 locking caps in SS with a pyrex toob.

Anyone know what page the rebuild video or instructions are on? I've been searching. I dismantled my term and the ceramic was broken which would a count for a short giving bad tastes. Luckily an employee at the b&m had a cup for a killer that he gave me so I will rebuild. I tried to do my own build even with the break but it just wasn't happening.

Amusingly, there is another clone coming: a killer 705 SS clone, no less.. So, be of good cheer, persevere and stalk the co-ops -)

I sanded the outside of the Terminator's center pin a bit and it is now much easier to remove ceramics. I personally don't think it's any different from rebuilding the Killer (in fact, I believe that the nest is bigger than that of the Killer). The construction and materials are indeed sub-par (certainly compared to the Killer) but it vapes really well and is definitely a good bang for the buck IMO. I would definitely recommend one for someone who is new and interested in getting in to submersible rebuildable atomizers.

The replacements are so cheap that you should just bin them when they're done - we're talking 50 Cents more than a carto, I used to try to boil cartos when I first started - got to realize it was just too much hassle in the end.

The TT's are great straight out of the pack (once the soapy taste goes) I personally wouldn't use them any longer than the life of the coil due to the plating coming off -God knows what's underneath the chrome.

As far as the vape is concerned, they're just as good as the Killer - Killer coils even have the same soapy taste at the start.

I would love to do that but since my only experience so far has been negative I'm very hesitant. How long does the soapy taste last for you?

From what I read elsewhere, the soapy-taste is from the ceramic.

I'd read the preferred solution was washing it and seriously torching the begezus out of it. Later, I'd read that was no longer necessary, as the manufacturing had tighted-up..... Since I don't believe that in the least, I detergented and rinsed mine, then held it in the gas stove-top flame until I was satsified.

Never tasted soapy at all, but I do feel the setup mutes the taste of my tobacco-flavors somewhat.

And, yeah.. I have to say I think ewokfur is a pretty good product.. I still need to get some of the XC ceramic wick to test as well.

I've got some of the ewokfur (lolz) and it works darn good. I haven't tried to sleeve it over a SS wick yet but that's on my list.

Now I'm interested in the ceramic stuff but every where I've seen it for sale, it's like $11 for ONE stick of (what I believe to be) EXTREMELY brittle material that I am sure to waste most of before I do anything useful with it. Is there a good place to get a handful of that stuff without feeling like a chump?
edit:
I'm also interested but kinda skeered of the SS cable stuff. The process by which you extract the bits you need from the cable is.....daunting.

  1. Hybrid-wick: I pushed some mesh up the ewok-sleeve on the T2: it worked, but it fights back and starts to unravel
  2. Ceramic:
    • DV has the ceramic FC-whatever for like $12 for.. 3 pieces?
    • I'm considering ordering some al.oxide stones and trying to make a ceramic wick
  3. SS Cable:
    • Tried the SS cable from KP, but it was so short it would have fallen into my aga-T tank.
    • I went to Lowes, bought $0.36/ft vinyl-coated-ss-cable (7x7), chopped off 1.75" with a cutting wheel in dremel, and torched it.. Didn't wick even slightly well for me. Easy to wrap, but unimpressive results. (back to mesh)

I got mine from aquavaporcigs they directions posted with pictures on how to fill this unit up ect... I have rebuilt mine already even though the stock coil was working fine. If you have any of the ce2's with the ceramic cups in them its the same size as the terminators. I used just resistance wire to rebuild 28ga 3/4 wrap but I heard someone say it was like a vivi head. That gave me the idea to build and install the coil like I would a vivi nova worked lime a charm. I don't have to put the wire in the ceramic hole it just sits on the pin. I used a paper clip to push the insulator aside slipped one end of coil wire inbetween it and the atty base and trapped the other inbetween the insulator and the pin super eady. I'll try and post a video or at least pics when I rebuild again.

This unit would be awesome with a couple of modifications. One reverse threading on the juice control adapter and a fill hole either on top or the side near the top it would do well in just about any tank then I think. Not coming with some kind of instructions though seriously? Smok tech isn't a new company they should know better by now. Can't wait to see if they take the hints and give us an awesome revision of this soon.
