So, ive been vaping about 4 months and when I first started, it gave me a wicked sore throat. I was vaping 18mg 50/50 pg vg, and after reading tons of posts, made the switch to 12 mg organic 100vg. Virgin vapors to be exact....and that really cleared things up after a week or two. Yay for no more sore throat! I had really been considering quitting vaping. So, then two weeks ago, actually 14 to 17 days ago, I broke down and over the course of those three days, I smoked about half a pack of analogs....I was vaping too, but also going outside for a smoke. And then I noticed my sore throat came back when vaping. So I put the ciggs away, blaming them, as I had never had any problems with the virgin vapors, and since then its been two weeks and my throat is stiiiiiill freakin killin me. I have noticed that ive been gradually chain vaping more and more, possibly in part because ive switched to a bigger tank that I have to fill up less often. And so, yeah, vaping is once again murdering my throat. Boooo. Id have thought if it was from the ciggs it would be gone by now. Sup with that? Opinions? Advice?

Sorry to hear about your throat Amy. Are you drinking lots of water? Is it possibly the weather and the usual ailments that come along with it? I'd suggest a doctor visit just to make sure you don't have something else going on.

As far as the juice is concerned I don't know if Virgin Vapors uses PG in the flavor base. Organic and virgin tends to tell me they don't, but I don't know that for sure. Heathers Heavenly Vapes does have a completely PG free range too - Purity.

Is there a correlation in the flavor you were vaping when you started and now? Perhaps it's something in the juice itself, but not PG?

Hope you get it figured asap though!

I'm getting a raw throat the last couple days. Can't pinpoint it to my juice since it's only bothersome on certain flavors. However, i noticed my ears are also feeling tickly. You said you'd been outside. Are there any pollens you're allergic to that might be increased right now? I checked mine down here, and though I've never had allergies, my issues coincided with higher tree pollen levels yesterday and today. Could be coincidence, or maybe not.

Just to be safe though, if it's last this long you may want to get a Dr's advise, in case it's strep throat.

I've had to continue to cut down on nic levels as my equipment improves due to the sore throat. I'd rather vape more at lower levels at this point. I even vape 0mg to 3mg in the late evening just to preserve my throat. For me, I think the better equipment has something to do with it.

Thanks yall, yes VV is 100% pg and alcohol free, and lolyeah I suppose it could be allergies, although until maybe yesterday its been cold as cold can be round here....I went to the dr, twice, when I had my sore throat before, and twice I went on antibiotics just to be safe with no result so I hate to go back and seem like a hypochondriac, but I suppose yall are right and I should call on monday =( I just feel like its an awfully big coincidence that I never had any issues till I freaking smoked....boooo. I also have a wicked dry mouth, and my juice never really did that to me before either. I am indeed smoking on a new flavor from VV Absolute line, so as soon as my old tried and true flavor is steeped a bit in a day or two ill go to that and see if that helps too, good idea!

Mothernature, -- I hear ya and agree 100% !!! I havent really switched equipment though, just moved from a protank mini to a protank 2. Everything else is the same. But yeah if this continues I guess im gonna have to drop nic level and see what that does. Sadly I just recieved a HUGE order of 12mg stuff. So I either have to vape it or sell it before I can reorder.

Well, that sounds very reasonable. Is medication a possibility? If you've changed a med, or added/started one? Biotene is wonderful for those of us who get dry mouth. I'm wondering if trying some of that would ease the problem in your mouth and throat? Still sounds like there's an environmental irritant or bug that could be a possibility though.

Im using a 1.8ohm atty with an ego twist set at 3.2 or maybe sometimes slightly above. Never much more. I always drink tons of water.

Have you got any other liquids you can try? Is it all VV or have you been vaping just one particular flavor from them ? Oh - and do schedule that doc appointment. It could be that it IS "just" a horrible sore throat and only antibiotics can help that. Are the lymph nodes on your neck below your ears swollen? definitely get an appointment and have it checked out. If it isn't just one flavor then maybe order some VG (literally just VG) and try it.

Can anyone tell us if there's any PG in VV's flavor bases please? I'd suggest nicotine reduction too though the reaction to that isn't so much sore throat but nausea and a headache.

Unless I use a 50/50 of another brand all I have is VV, and yes their VG IS100% vg, no pg in any of it, not even the flavor bases. I cant really tell if my lymph nodes are swollen but they are tender. Ill make a drs appt I guess, but im also going to try thinning out my juice with some distilled water....thats how VV does it....and see if that takes the edge off......

Oh - sorry, I was referring to your VV juices nicotine levels in that particular response. If it is as I hope it is "just" a sore throat for which you need medication; and THEN you find that the nicotine in your current VV juice is too high, just buy some more VV juices in those same flavors at 0 mg nicotine. Then you could bring down your nicotine levels by mixing them with the higher nic flavors rather than throwing away or giving away your current incoming big order. :)

Thats a fantastic idea, but im quite broke in the ejuice budget department, so it will be quite some time before I can afford to purchase any, really, any, more juice. At just under 25 bucks for 30 oz, The nice, pure, organic stuff aint cheap!

A spoonful of raw honey is very soothing on a sore throat. Don't buy the junk in the grocery store tho. Try to find local. It will have pollens in it that are unique to your area.
Try Velvet Cloud Vapors or Free State Vapors. Both are organic and less pricy than VV. VCV often has very good sales (they just had 25% off but I think it's expired) and there is a standing 15% off FS with the code "Reddit15". I ordered two bottles of 0 nic from Free State in flavors that mix well with my higher nic juices. Marshmallow was a good one to mix with other bakery flavors. That way you don't have to buy equal amounts of the same juice and it's always nice to have some 0 nic on hand for late nights. I really like Free State and their prices are excellent.
