Thanks for all the tips mothernature! I havent heard of free state, but when I made the switch to 100vg I chose Vv over HHV or VCV because I prefer their flavor selection by a mile....However yes, if my throat continues to bother me after a drs appt and a lower nic level, I suppose ill try a different company.
And thanks so much for the tip about water! ill be sure to try just a little bit.

Hey Amy - hope you get it worked out.
Question - by atty do you mean one of those dripping atomizer things - that look like & are same size
as the metal cartomiser tubes?
I got one as freebie with my cirrus tank - had no idea what it was - took 3 hours of searching & reading to identify it. LOL
Anyway heating element/coil aren't very far from the mouth. ???

Something that might make a difference for harshness on the throat - heating coils down low, near battery & not up near
lips. Maybe even longer drip tips.

Mothernature, -- I hear ya and agree 100% !!! I havent really switched equipment though, just moved from a protank mini to a protank 2. Everything else is the same. But yeah if this continues I guess im gonna have to drop nic level and see what that does. Sadly I just recieved a HUGE order of 12mg stuff. So I either have to vape it or sell it before I can reorder.

I also see you said your mouth was dry. someone else already said it, but are you drinking enough water? if you are noticing a dry mouth from vaping, you are not drinking enough. I actually just purchased a Nalgene bottle to carry around with me so I always have water bc I forget to drink a lot when im vaping! Im actually feeling SO much better drinking more water than I used to. I bet I was actualy drinking too little all these years, even before vaping lol

Hang in there Amy! If I had a low nic juice from heathers I'd mail you a sample just to see if it's "something" in the flavor composition.

So im gently trying out the 2.5 atty and it seems better, so far. Really gotta give it a few days to see if it burns me raw, so to speak, but so far seems better even with the same juice. Fingers crossed.

If this has already been said sorry I'm on my way out the door and only have a few minutes and just wanted to weigh in here.
It is possible that the sore throat can be from the cigs. Canker sores and the like can be a side effect of quitting smoking even if you switch to vaping its still and adjustment and youre body wont have a lot of chemicals its used to having, including things that help streamline the nicotine absortion. Also it could be the juice I started with a high pg 18mg juice and I had to literally take a vape then sip water and repeat. I found that after finding some higher quality juices with a higher vg mix and lower nicotine did wonders. Then again it could just be the nicotine bothering you, if you happen to be vaping a higher level of nicotine than youre analogs had then that could definitely cause a lot of irritation. Sorry if Im rambling its early yet around here lol

Actually I couldnt drink more water/gatoraide/pedialite if I tried. Aww thanks hula thats awfully sweet!!! Yes I totally realize it can be from the cigs, which is why I was initially curious if a sore throat would from quitting would last even 2 weeks after quitting? No matter, figured out it was def the throat hit I was getting.

Glad you figured it out!! It seems like too much throat hit is causes a lot of people to give up on vaping, or thats what makes a lot of beginners see that vaping really isnt just a fill and go deal, or not at first anyways theres definitely a learning curve.
HAPPY VAPING

Well, if you think pg liquids have caused your sore throat int he past then you should be aware that Biotene's main ingredient IS pg. If you have a sensitivity to pg that would not help it I'm sure.

HST when I first stopped smoking I could not vape high vg juices. They would give me a crazy bad sore throat. It's been over 2 years since my last cigarette & I can now vape some higher vg juices. But when I first started vaping I couldn't do more than 20% vg & not get a sore throat.

Could it be that the combo of you smoking again combined with the vg is causing the problem? VG juices tend to cause some users to produce a higher amount of phlegm, which would cause a sore throat.

thanks so much for the tip about biotene. im not experiencing any phlegm, so i dont think the organic vg is the issue, esp cause hitting my boyfriend 50/50 is either worse or no better (but I dont really vape his for more than ocassionally to rarely taking one hit here or there). but its a good thought and something to consider! now that ive been using the 2.5 atty with the same juice im not sure its really any better in terms of alleviating my throat issues....I might still just have a residual sore throat from ciggs tho so im waiting on my 4mg juice to get here tomorrow or monday and we'll see how that treats me. *shrugs* would hate to have to quit vaping. going on three weeks with a sore throat except for the few days I wasnt vaping, and went back to ciggs instead (wich doesnt help things I know).

Hey Amy I'm having exactly the same problem been vaping for 6 months and have a lingering laryngitis and sore throat. Have found out that if I use low VG liquids better. Also tobacco flavors worse for me. So combination of factors. Didn't consult doctor cause if I stop vaping for a day or two gets better. Noticed that antihistamine helps. Good luck and if you find solution let me know

Have you both had a look through and read of this forum?

Health, Safety and E-Smoking

My problem was relatively simple to solve - PG in too high a concentration, or a low one but vaped a lot would give me a horrible sore throat and dry hacking cough. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the situation for either of you, so have a look at that link - It must have been addressed somewhere! If not, make a new thread. Hope you both get better soon!
