I'm a Marlboro light smoker of 30 years and decided to convert to vaping 3 weeks ago. So far so good. This is not my first attempt. I began vaping a year ago and developed a bad eye infection that I could not get rid of. At the time I thought it to be from the ejuice and maybe an allergy to it. It seemed the more I vaped the worse my eyes looked. I stopped vaping and return to the real thing went on antibotic for the eye infection and everything went back to normal.

Several weeks ago I decided I did not like the smell our (stink) of a real cig and found my old Ego set up and began vaping. 1 week into it and my Ego batteries bit the dust so I purchased (2) Vision Spinners from MadVapes. They have a store local to me so it is easy to run and pick up new stuff. I purchased ejuice from them and so far so good...No eye problems.

My question is in taste of the ejuice, foods etc. After vaping for several weeks I feel as I'm losing my taste. Is this a side effect of Vaping? I'm using 12mg Nic with 3.8V. I do tend to vape more then what I would smoke. However I have develop a sore taste and it seems the stronger ejuice I have are the only ones that really have any taste at this point. Example would be Banana, Blueberry I can taste, Grape, Thin Mints and tabacco I annot taste. I had a friend try the ejuice and it appear to be fine as in all has a taste. My friend is an ex smoker. Please advice. I really do not want to go back to analogs as I like vaping. :(

Are you losing your taste in general- with food and drink also- or is it just the nic e-liquid? Some of the liquids just have more concentrated flavors than others. Also, do you know the percentage of PG to VG in your e-liquid? Some people are sensitive to PG and prefer a 100% VG base liquid. The PG is thinner and delivers more of a throat hit, like you'd get from smoking, while the VG (vegetable glycerin) is thicker and produces more vapor. I like 50/50%, but the lowest I try to go is 70%PG to 30%VG. Any more PG than that will make my throat sore.
Stick with it though, you may need to adjust your nic up to 18-24mg if you were a heavier smoker, to prevent craving a real cig. Also, there's an article on this site that explains how vaping delivers nicotine to your body more slowly than smoking, so it is normal to vape more than you smoked. It is so much less harmful to you though! So please don't give up. :)

It sounds odd that you would lose your ability to taste things after quitting cigarettes. Most long time vapers find that their taste buds become magnified after quitting the cigs. Did you mean you were losing the ability to taste those particular juices, or losing the ability to taste anything? If you are losing the taste of those particular juices, I find that to be a fairly common symptom among most vapers. One you hit that brick wall with certain juices I find it best to put them aside for a little while and go to a different juice, it gives your taste buds a chance to experience a new a different flavor. Most of the time when you come back to those juices you took a break from, you will be able to taste them again. Fruit flavors for a lot of people can become tiresome quite quickly because they are not very complex flavors. Grape just taste like grape, there's nothing more to it to experience.

I suppose I should've asked this first but here we are. :p How are you vaping the juice? Meaning, are you dripping into some 510 attys, using some cartos? The list goes on about how you can vape. Depending on what your set up is, the diminished flavor could be happening somewhere in the set up, not necessarily the juice.

Vaping is extremely dehydrating as PG and VG are hygroscopic- they trap the moisture in our mouth, lungs and throat and thus the vapor. I drink 2 liters water per day. Also more than 4 cups java will dehydrate also...same with caffeine laced soft drinks. With the Spinner (nice choice BTW) what cartomizer/ clearomizer and ohms are you using?

Ok so here it goes. I feel as if I'm losing my taste in general. Foods do not taste as strong and I'm using salt now for flavor. My set up is Vision Spinner 3.8V, with a Ce5 Cart. The new one with the wicks. 12MG ejuice in the flovr of Thin MInt, Banana, Grape, Blueberry, and Sweet carolina which is a tabacco flovor. I'm currently switching juices through out the day but I must say I'm almost continously vaping. I'm assuming maybe it is just getting use to the juice and my taste will begin to improve.

NOT a Doctor but since tears have an important antibacterial role dehydration could cause an infection of the eyes. As far the ohms and vaping @ 3.8 volts I would try turning the voltage up. I'm vaping 2.4 ohms @ 4.2 volts. I always start my voltage low and dial it up until I hit my "sweet spot". The voltage will differ with different juices.
