Yes I've got the open wound feeling on the side of my tongue as well! Thanks for the reassurance:vapor:

Losing taste in my juice has happened to me also. I make sure to keep well hydrated (which didn't help with the taste thing, but it's still good to drink lots of water). May seem kinda weird, but if I'm drinking sweet tea while vaping, it seems to 'reset' my taste buds and I can then taste the juice seconds after having a drink of sweet tea. Can't explain that one...

Does anyone ever get a peppery taste from their juice and kind of a stinging feeling on the tongue? Sometimes when I try a new juice in a new tank cartridge, it tastes kind of peppery and I'm wondering if it's the cartridge, my taste buds, or the juice needs to steep more. I don't have the open sore feeling on my tongue, more of a general all-over stinging.

Hydration is def a necessity.

The other issue you may be having is a film building up on your tongue from the vg/pg/vapor.

I find this occurs more often when it is humid out.

Solution is to brush the tongue - makes sense since that where the sense of taste is experienced.

Vape On!

+1
I drink a lot of water while vaping and it seem sreset my taste buds.

It could be due to a high level of nic or just the juice itself. What mg is your juice? When I first got my Dekang RY4 24mg stung my tongue and tasted like rubbing alcohol. I let it steep for 3 days and got rid of the alcohol after taste. I still get a stinging feeling on my tongue but just on that juice, my other juices seems to be fine and no stinging.

I was using 18, which is what I usually use, but after posting this, I saw on another thread where someone said nic has a peppery taste, so I switched to 6 for the rest of the evening to see if there is a difference. Could be my mouth just isn't used to vaping yet, plus I've been switching between two different PV's with totally different draws and carts, so maybe my mouth is just sore from the back and forth. I'm going to drink a lot of water, take gentler draws, and stick with juice that has steeped and is 6 mg for the rest of the evening and see if that helps.

Thanks for your advice. :)

There's a couple things to do to help.

1) Change the angle you hold your ecig. My tongue feels sore/numb/scalded when I hold my cig straight out (perpendicular to my face) causing the vapor to hit my tongue directly. If I hold the cig down more so the vapor hits the roof of my mouth it gives my tongue a break and allows the vapor to be distributed around the mouth and a little more through the nose.

2) Take small fast shallow puffs with your nasal passage open to let your nose help you experience flavor.

3) When I want super strong flavor hits, I point my cig to the roof of my mouth, vape, and just breathe slow and shallow. Kind of like I do with a nebulizer. Your battery will blink at you and your atty may get hot because of the long drags, but it gives off very strong satisfying flavor when your tastebuds are temporarily fried. At least it does IME. Hope this all makes sense. I vape constantly so I figured this out pretty quick. Too addicted to put it down and wait for my taste buds to recover. Lol
