King Clone + Stuck Locking ring

I just an hour ago received my gorgeous, shiney new King clone and was twisting the locking ring to figure it out, but now it's stuck!

Any suggestions on how to unstick it? It's locked in the open position so I can vape it, but I can't take it with me because the button is so sensitive and I don't want it firing in my purse.

If I recall, it's not reverse locking, right? So to lock it, I would turn it the same way I would turn the tubes to tighten them. Either way, it won't budge and I don't want to use a pliers on it and scratch it up.

If you are talking about the one on FT then their site says it is not reverse threaded. Having that hexagonal shaped locking ring you should be able to put a crescent wrench on it with out damage.

Throw it in the freezer for a few minutes. $10 says it'll unstick.

wouldn't hurt it anyway. THere are a few reviews on their site that mention the locking ring sticking. Nice lookinng mod by the way.

It is not reverse threaded. You're going to want to turn it counter clockwise.

Since the lock ring is hex flat sided, I'd use a pair of pliers or channel locks with pads between the ring and jaws. A cheap thin leather belt works well for padding and so does a rubber non-slip "gripper" used to open jar lids.

If it really stuck, you may find that when you turn the lock ring, the entire switch assembly may unscrew from the bottom tube. If that happens, you'll have to use another set of pliers (again padded) to hold the top part of the switch assembly.

I had the same problem with my King clone. When you get the ring unstuck, NoLox on the threading helps.

Freezing for almost 10 minutes, plus the kitchen jar grabber finally worked! I'm not touching it till I get to Home Dept to get Noalox now!

Merry Christmas to me, along with the King Clone, I also bought the Magneto. However, I didn't pay attention and got the older version without the adjustable center pin.

Does anyone know where I get get the head with the adjustable center pin? I know I saw it somewhere but can't remember.

you could use a pair of pliars possibly maybe fut a thick hand towel between the jaws of the pliars

Hi, again, Got-Ta-Go, I picked up a bottle of Noalox. Was wondering how you got it on the threads by the locking ring. You can't even see the threads. Do I just squirt some in and move the locking ring around? Can't really wipe any of it off.

you have to take it all of the way apart. Then coat the threads.
