Well reading Bad Ninja's posts has convinced me to get a King V2 mod. They surely do look very impressive, simple, good looking, and rugged. The problem is that 88evape where they carry the recommended "dusted stainless" version seems to be very unreliable lately. The website has been down for over two days now. They do not answer their phone or return my calls attempting to order. I am frustrated as I had wanted to get this mod for Christmas. Other vape stores carry different KIng V2 versions too of course. However, they all have that weird "IMPROOF" marking on them every place else I have seem them for sale.

Great info, thanks Bad Ninja! The 88evape website is back online this morning. I quickly ordered one while I could. I think you may have started a cult following with this mod. I did a lot of research and I believe you are 100% correct that no mod is any better built or more rugged and simple than the King. The name is very appropriate!

I have my brass King sitting next to me with a Veritas on top...one of my go to setups. You're making a great decision. As for the Improof, that is just because it's a 1 to 1 clone and the King was originally a collaboration by the same name. BTW, the original King's sold for $250...and I love my $13 one

They are very straightforward mechanicals, built solid and pretty easy to service.
The only issue I've really had is, in a few, I've had to replace the spring, which is common on a lot of clones.
You won't be disappointed.

I am really excited about receiving it and honestly looking forward to this mod! They mailed it out on 12/18, so it might make it here before Christmas. I got the e-mail with the tracking, and it said 88evape on the top header of the e-mail. On the bottom of the e-mail it said 101vape with the tracking? Perhaps they are related somehow or owned by the same person. Interesting stuff.

You won't be disappointed. It's a great mod. I have the exact same one from 88evape and have nothing but good things to say about it. I have greatly slimmed down my mech collection to less than a dozen :) a big achievement for me believe me. That particular King is one of the best.

Well mine arrived on 12/24 from 88evape, and I put the whole mailing package under the tree for myself like a big child. I excitedly opened it up on Christmas morning. I have been using it ever since, and it is every bit as good as Bad Ninja and others claim it is. I am very pleased with it!
With all this talk of vent holes for mechanical mods, do I need to drill holes in this beauty?

Thanks to ninja, I purchased this "little" gem, and what a mod! :) Awesome build-quality, great deep threads, thick brass and a real workhorse and tank of a mod! It's heavy yes, but it's so great feeling while holding it in the hand and the button is simply a joy to use. It came stuck at several points, but I eventually got everything open after freezing them, except the locking-ring which is "locked" open, but no biggie, as I don't need locking on recessed button mechs anyway, although I cannot clean the threads there. It's amazing that you can get such a nice mod for shocking 12 bucks at FT, lol! Thank you again ninja, much appreciated mate! :)

Nice!
The locking ring is reverse threaded.
Try some rubber gloves.

When you get that ring off, throw a little silicone grease on the threads. No more sticking and works much more smoothly.

I got sidetracked buying some other vape gear, But I definately will get a King V2 soon.

@Bad Ninja and @Kprthevapr are great people (Cult starters :) ) that have given me lots of good advice in my vaping journey.

Eric

After CNY I'm probably buying another one too.
All of my brass ones have dented tubes and locking rings.
They all work perfectly, I'm just after an unabused pretty one.
Lol

I love my king v2 also! From the pics and one trustworthy reviewer, the king v2 in full copper for 15 bucks on FT is the same as the knurled brass I got which ninja kindly reffered me to. I'm gonna get that copper soon, but i'm still contemplating what my complete order is gonna be, I just know that I want a dos equis which got praised by a trustworthy person(15 bucks!!! - crazy! :) ), and probably a fuhattan and the copper king v2, but I always find I have missed something after clicking order and I don't wanna have to many seperate packages to be home for collecting.

I'm now vaping with my nikita parallel box, but yesterday I rocked the king v2 for several hours with a 0.1 20g dual 4-5 wrap 3mm ka1 build(25R's, but not recommended!) which was extremelly enjoyable and the button doesn't get hot if giving it a little time to breath and not over-dripping, and I use stock-spring!... The weight, threads, button is just quality all over. I'm not the biggest fan of the battery/atty rattling adjustments, but that's not a big issue. It's a little more bothersome than e.g. my smpl's, to adjust and it sometimes comes loose after opening etc and spins out of place, but most non-dirrect-to-atty mechs are like that or in variation, except floating-510' and such, so i'm not complaining...

In short, again, two thumbs up for the king 2! :)
