Early last week, I lost my Grand. Three days latter my upgrade arrived in the mail. Here is a photo along with my wife's grand for perspective.

It is amazing what you can do with a half-inch dowel and some sandpaper. Yes, that is a Reomizer on a Mini 2. :rickroll:

I hope someone is using my old grand. I would hate to see it be a total waste. I should have done my research before ordering the Reomizer along with my Mini. From the website I had the impression that the rba would fit in the Mini 18490. When I looked here on the forum, I realized that I would need an adapter (which I didn't order). That is what made me think of expanding the well by about 1 mm. Glad I did! The Reomizer has a much nicer draw than anything else that I have tried. I think I will shoot for the same 2.8 ohms that came standard with it. Now lets see how long I can leave the coils alone before messing with a good thing.

In the picture you will see a small piece of 1/2" round wood dowel and some 120 grit sandpaper. What I did first is cut a small piece of sand paper about 1-inch wide and just long enough to fit around the dowel. I shaped the sandpaper around the dowel with the grit on the outside. If the sand paper isn't long enough to fit around the dowel end to end don't worry. A 5mm gap is still ok. I liked having a 1mm to 2mm for ease of handling. The fit was really tight at first so I had to put the sand paper in the well first and then stick the dowel in. After that, start twisting the dowel back and forth while holding the sandpaper. This will start widening the hole for the drip catch. Once you feel little resistance, turn the piece of sandpaper over and use the other edge. I recommend rotating the Reo at various intervals so that you don't sand unevenly. Also stop frequently and blow out the aluminum dust. Next, superglue a small piece of paper around the end of the dowel and repeat the earlier process. I recommend just supergluing the ends where the paper fits together. If it is too tight to fit the next piece of sandpaper in there you can remove the paper and continue sanding. The hole should be big enough after the second piece of paper is added and the sanding is completed. If it takes 3 or 4 layers of regular paper added don't worry. This process took me about 35 minutes with my wife shaking her head at me modifying a brand new unused Reo. I went through 7 small pieces of sandpaper in the process. Also while you are sanding, concentrate on keeping the sandpaper down at the bottom of the well so that the sides will remain even instead of slanted in. Periodically check if the Reomizer will fit and then do two more passes. Also make sure to test it with a multimeter to make sure you don't have a short before inserting the battery back in the Reo.

How does the mini 2.0 compare to the grand as far as power? I have 2 original 14500 minis and a grand and the grand definitely hits harder. Once I got the Reobuildabe atty for the grand I hardly ever use the minis but I'd like a bit smaller package than the grand. Thinking the mini 2.0 with a Reobuildable would be ideal if it hits like the grand.
Also, is it possible to get Reosmods to enlarge the drip well to fit the Reobuildable atty?

I will replace the juice well on wood mods I am not doing this with the metal mods . The 18490 is very close as far as how hard it hits . The grand drops in voltage under load a little less then the 18490 but very close . The mini really drops in voltage under load it is a 14500 . The bigger the battery the less voltage drop

Sorry about our lost REO. Major Bummer. And nice work on CC.

If you can wait long enough there should be some more affordable Mini CC sized, BF RBAs arriving. I have no insider knowledge but I do suspect it will only be a matter of time. Although there are possible alternatives to the two RBAs I'm familiar with, that will fit a Mini CC, the Hornet and the hopefully soon to be shipped Surface from Germany will fit the Mini CCs and most likely the smaller brass CCs on some Wood REOs. Both are pretty pricey but well worth the investment as compared to the long term cost of prebuilt attys and even cartos. Surface is a pre-order and was slated to be shipped second week of Jan. Don't have any updates. I ordered two and will be torching one as they are all SS. The Hornet is pretty tiny especially when used with a smaller/slimmer DT. Not sure about specs for Surface but I think it is taller than Hornet. It is a horizontal coil, with deep well similar to the A7. Outside diameter is ~ 12.2mm.
