KR808 & 510 Cartos...

Hi all....I'm just wondering about how many times you can refill 808 cartos? (I use the V4L blank Cool Carts and V4L blank WOW Vapor cartos to be exact). V4L Support says they can be refilled 3-5 times, but I think I have already gone beyond that in a few of mine. I haven't noticed any issue....but I thought I better check just in case it could cause some other problems that may not be noticeable, or that I may not be aware of.

For my 510, I have the SmokeTech 3.2, 2.5 and 2.0ohm cartos. Any idea on about how many times these can be refilled?

I just started a pretty in depth organizational process for all of these cartos I have floating around, so I thought it would be a good time to track how long I've been using each one of them too so I can figure out when to toss them!

With all cartos, I personally go though 10-15ml of juice. Before I decide to toss them in the trash. So, if your using standard sized 808 cartos then that will be 10-15 times since they can only hold 1ml of juice.

The reason I say this is that the piece of cotton around the coil gradually degrades. Becoming highly susceptible to burning. This will then lead to the filler material ending up burnt as well. Hate to sound like a broken record but, if this happens then you'll be inhaling smoke instead of vapor. So, it's better to be on the safe side.

I thought my cartos were lasting way past their expiration date because I was just lucky. It wasn't until I started pulling used cartos apart that I began to see what I was actually taking in....burnt filler material. The change in flavor was very gradual, so I wasn't perceiving it very well, especially with my blown taste buds, but the polyfill and the "diaper" material degrade and start to burn. The flavor of the charred filler is distinct and you will start to perceive it in due time.

I use 808 and SR 510 in tanks at (usually) about 4.5 Volts.
I get about what washvape and spaceballs said through them before I have to change.
3 short 808 tanks, 2 XXL 510 tanks.

It also depends on the juice. Clear, or nearly clear mostly PG juices can be used to refill the same carto many more times than a thicker VG juice that is dark in color. I use V4L coolcarts and wow blanks also, and this has been my experience over the last few years. As an extreme example, I can put about 10 mls of V4L wow peppermint through a carto before it's toast but if I use TV vanilla-custard-buttercream-cupcake, I can only use the carto once.

Interesting...I thought if they didn't taste burnt then the filler was ok. Now I feel like dissecting them apart. I wish there was more info about the effect of smoking the polyfill.

Most o the time that is true. Although, sometimes it's very hard to tell. Anyways, the effect of smoking polyfill is almost the same as what were to happen if you smoked a cigarette filter by itself. There's a LONG thread in regards to the dangers of burnt cartos here:
