KR808 Battery- not enough airflow?

Quick question for those more knowledgeable than I: I have several KR808 batteries, which I love, but one of my manual bats has a significantly harder "draw" than all of the others. I noticed that on this battery, the "airflow" holes (the little holes right around the battery threading) look smaller than the ones on my other bats.

Is this why the draw is so hard? (If I'm not being clear- it feels like trying to drink a thick milkshake through a straw).

if so, is there anything I can do about it? I tried using my drill on them, but my smallest bit won't fit between the threading and the main part of the battery in order to get at the hole.

Have you tried cleaning the holes? I take a toothpick and poke it thru the holes to clean out any gunk that may be in there. I also try to scrape out all the gunk that accumulates in the battery threads, etc.

I had a battery that was hard to draw and after I cleaned the holes it worked much better.

I do the same as Redbone but use a straightpin. I do the threads as well, and the inner circle of the connecter where lots of dried juice builds up.

This is why i switched to the 510 type battery a year ago. the draw is always perfect. My kr808 manual batts had 1 big hole, the next had 2 small holes, another 2 really really small holes. All from the same supplier, and the description only said shorty, normal, and xl. no reference to the draw being different.
